I'm looking at the possibility of putting a turbo engine in my Volvo, doesn't have to be a Volvo unit the car is already modified so maybe a 1.8t bam or similar.
I'm looking for someone to do the work but I'm reluctant as I've been let down massively before and ended up with a ruined car and a day in court, which went in my favour but I'd rather not do it again.
Any recommendations from people on here would be massively appreciated. I know there are loads of talented guys on here that would do it themselves but I'm not one of them.
Preferably someone who has used the company before or a company that is well known or well regarded.
Thanks.

Good point I'm in Manchester but to be honest I'm willing to travel virtually anywhere for a trustworthy garage that won't screw me over.

I could do it if you’re willing to wait a year or so. I’ve done many varied engine swaps for people over the years, including a few cars that have builds threads on here.
Tbh with how the industry is at the minute I’d be suspicious of anyone who can do a job like that immediately, if you know what I mean. Anyone decent usually has a fairly long waiting list.

Chris at garage 87 in Cheadle has done 1.8t swaps into other vw models, I own one.
Maybe see if he'd take on the job. You can Google the garage name for his details. He's on Facebook if you are.

Wondering whether a (perhaps professionally assisted) turbo conversion of your existing lump (or type of lump), possibly basing it on a replacement bottom end/engine might be a viable solution for yourself? Changing the engine for a completely different type, whether using the original gearbox or not is orders of magnitude more complex than turboing what is already in there, and something that you might gain some pleasure from having a go at. If all else fails, things are relatively easily recovered. Understood that this might not be the approach you want to take.
Good luck with it whichever route you end up taking!

I have actually thought about that just recently, the 460 did come with a turbo'd version of my engine but they are difficult to find. I'm researching whether the engine is just the same with a turbo bolted on or they reworked it in some way. I think I might have a go myself like you suggest, what's the worst that could happen?
