So i guess it's just a case of learning all the new fuctions then.....You're gonna need some patience for all the n0oB questions The tag idea does sound a good one,a kind of simplistic search? Is it dependent on the use of eg 'japanese' in the actual thread? Or is 'japanese' linked to other keywords like 'toyota' 'j-tin' 'boso' etc etc?

David would it take a lot to have an option on the entire left panel? Maybe have an option in settings to move it to just a few buttons at the top so it is not so intrusive?

I'm looking at the left panel stuff at the moment,.. first thing I'm going to do is try it on the right hand side removing it is going to be nearly impossible... but thats one of my specialist areas in development Hongkongphooey .. I'll try and get a user guide/sales pitch together for the site over the next week or so.

If I just wanted to look at a certain model / marque, I'd go to one of the many dedicated sites that cater for them. I choose to come to RR because of the diverse mix of vehicles that are on here, I like the fact I have to look through posts I might have no interest in, as more often than not they open my eyes to something I like that otherwise I'd never have seen. RR is what it is because of the people and the diversity. It's a good thing Okay then,.. how about when we have FAQs on Banded wheels, Tyre stretching, lowering or any one of a hundred other topics... be nice to just click on a button and see all the FAQs without them having to be sticky

I don't think you have to wait for an activation email, HTW is doing it personally. I haven't received an email at all, but tried a quick login the other night and I'm on it, like: to quote penski- ;D oh, and I have no spam filter. all those herbal king emails make me so jealous

I'm in, I didnt get the approval email but tried signing in and it worked! First impressions - like some others - seems very complicated and not too user friendly, but then I am a bit of a technophobe although having said that I found this site very user friendly and easy to use from the second I joined. Lots of work gone into it so I shall trundle through it all in my wobbly way tho and try and get used to it!
Oh and is it just me.....or is it reeeeaaaally slow??

Well I'm on with a whole new user name!! I've just used my 1st name!! How original.
1st impressions are. Looks all glossy and new and is going to be "interesting" to get used to.
Kinda like when Porka turned into clubpolo I'm sure I'll adapt.

Okay I've worked out how to make the discussion/category list page look less cluttered as per Mike's request. I've got to do a bit of styling and it'll be up and working Next task is to swap the panel to the right hand side.. Before both of them I need to fix the issue with the quote ins IE6 ... or get everyone to upgrade to IE7 or Firefox It looks better.. it has transparency and everything

FIREFOX FTMFW All looks good mate, appreciate the hard work going into this - it'll take everyone a while to get the hang of it as with all "new" software. Any planned switch over or a gradual fizzling out type of scenario? Once again, as an IT bod I know how much hassle this can be - I'm sure I speak for all of us around here when I say THANKS for the hard work going into keeping us addicts supplied! ;D

So when does the big change happen? Is there a date where the new site goes live and people will be expected to post over there??? I just don't want to miss anything on here or there (more over here with things moving so quickly) I have to say tho, I was unsure at first but after 2days of playing and posting I think I'm finally getting the hang of it, and it does look fantastic. Top marks Hotwire/Rmad , you've done us and the scene* proud D * did anyone else cringe when they read that?

The thing i like about it is how versitle it will be! For a while now RR has been more than just a forum but online a forum is all we have had! Now we have the chance to expand a bit! Not wanting to put pressure on HTW but theres so much that could be done now 'we' are in control!
