Nope - not a spam issue. Just an "email takes days to come through" issue! That could well be the fault of Yahoo though. Email arrived sometime during the night despite being sent at around 9pm on Tuesday.
Vic - lol @ partial hat removal!

Not wishing to sound negative, but i can't get on with the layout of the new forum at all. It seems far too cluttered with all the tags attached to the bottom of every post.
Will there be an option to hide / turn them off?
Also, unless you have the browser window full screen, the layout goes to pot

It's certainly different and I'm not sure yet but I'll hopefully find time to settle into the place. Haven't had too much of a chance to look yet!

I'll see what I can do on this. Now more people are using it there are some layout things I might need to look at. I'm sure once people start using it more regularly they will get used to it... I come here or visit other forums and it now feels like a total step into the dark ages... but then I've been using and working on the new forum design and code for the best part of a year.

Its part of the reason to do approval rather than emailing verfication links because often those varifications can go into the junk mail so people never get to go on the forum.

I come here or visit other forums and it now feels like a total step into the dark ages... but then I've been using and working on the new forum design and code for the best part of a year. I hope i'm not speaking out of turn here, but personally, all i need a forum to be is easy to read/navigate,clarity,a search your own posts fuction,a view posts since last visit function and the usual pic uploading quoting facilty and links.I like to scroll down a big screen and see what's been posted.Anything else i don't need, including tags and forum stats etc etc (which i'm not really sure what they're for anyway ![:-[](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/embarrassed.png) ) I'm sure there are some lovely trick up to date functions on it but i (and others i would assume) am i bit of a technophobe and would rather steer clear stuff that'll just frustrate me. I don't want to put a downer on all your obvious hard work and effort,i just thought you might like to hear an opinion. That said,i will persevere and hope it soon all becomes like an old pair of shoes. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

I'm finding the narrowness of the acutal posts a bit annoying. Is there a way I can get rid of the tags and forum stats etc when viewing anything other than the front page?

The tags are a good example of something that isn't on here but make life so much easier... want to see all the stuff about Japanese cars on this forum, what do you do?? Trawl posts? Use the search? What do you search for? On the new forum, you just click on the 'Japanese' tag and you get this: www.retro-rides.com/forum/index.php?TagFilter=6Or how about VW? www.retro-rides.com/forum/index.php?TagFilter=17Maybe you're just interested in Cortinas www.retro-rides.com/forum/index.php?TagFilter=181Your right on the forum stats though, it isn't really required, beyond show boating so people can see how many members their are etc. You can hide the Whose Online panel if you want, which makes the left panel a bit neater : www.retro-rides.com/forum/account.php?PostBackAction=Functionality

I choose to come to RR because of the diverse mix of vehicles that are on here, I like the fact I have to look through posts I might have no interest in, as more often than not they open my eyes to something I like that otherwise I'd never have seen. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) RR is what it is because of the people and the diversity.
