I asked previously about coilover replacement parts as I'm a bit baffled by this. My B5.5 passat estate has dropped on the drivers rear so I fear it's either a broken spring or knackered shock. But it's not affecting the driving of handling, no knocks or bangs or squeaks. I've never had a broken spring or knackered shock on any of my cars and dare not jack up at the moment as I need the transport. How it usually sits How it's sitting

Something isn't right apart from being low the wheel looks to be well forward in the arch. That might just be where it ends up at the end of normal suspension travel though. If you can't see any spare bits of spring lodged anywhere it would be a good idea to jack it up and see what's up. Has something else broken ?

When they drop low they do go forward in the arch, gonna order a new set of coilovers for it

I had a BMW 7 series that dropped on one side which turned out to be as a result of the lower spring perch on the strut breaking
While the above may not applicable to adjustable coilovers, might be worth checking that the strut hasn't managed to wind the collars down and drop the ride height?

Definitely do not drive it till you know what is wrong and its fixed, could well be just the spring wound off and a simple repair but could be something broken chaffing on a brake hose or broken part could come off the car at speed.

damper does not locate the spring on these, it'll be a broken spring most likely, however as its a Beam axle I would be checking incase its snapped.

I know nothing about the suspension on this car but a knackered damper isn’t the problem. You could remove the damper and the ride height wouldn’t change. The damper’s only job is to control the spring’s oscillations.

Aye as above. Usually broken shock = drives like curse word, broken spring = ride height change.
