had a couple of Capris (all Marks) over the years, now only one left. it´s fairly oriiginal (even the aux-lamp covers are in the boot), but though it only has 17k km on the clock it, it needs a resto after long time storage: (note: it even has still the "SA" sticker on the front screen-a reminiscence to the oil crisis in 73/74. SA was for saturday and you were not allowed to drive it on public roads on saturday.)

It's no different to what Vauxhall/Opel are doing with the Manta, a coupe SUV which has nothing in common with the originals other than the name.

Where is nickwheeler He has had a Capri or three eleven….. He has been quiet, I do hope all is well at home for him. Fixed that for you here's the best, my 2.0Si: the fastest a 2.9i: And an utter piece of curse word: And several years earlier my £25 daily driver(at Santa Pod): Things have been OK, but I've been suffering a total lack of motivation.

This was for sale local-ish to me recently... I dithered about going to see it and ultimately it was sold before I made up my mind that I really wanted it...

Is this a re vamp of a car from the the 80/90's? I have a vague recollection of seeing something very similar in Custom Car or Street Machine. The picture in my head has it yellow. Edit. Found a photo this is the car I remember.

Currently driving a '68 Karmann Ghia as my daily. Don't ask about previous cars - there have been way too many and I stopped counting at 160!

The jury's out on the alloys and whitewall combination.*
*Actually the jury's back and the verdict isn't good.

Heres my slice of Joy/Nightmare! A 1979 Ford Capri 2.0 Ghia in Diamond White. Still rough and ready but looked worse a few years ago. I've learned a lot with this one and should have chucked the towel in a while ago. Had the Carb apart at least 3 times, All new suspension (twice at the front), Steering rack that needs to be sorted again , wiring, new interior, new wheels, bumpers and currently spraying up a new boot lid for it. Some great advice from nickwheeler over the years and even helped me with some suspension parts! By the way Nick, I like the £25 daily! haha Amazing Cars and if you have the money you can build a nice classic out of them they're a lot of fun. Still have plenty I'd like to do with this one. I'd love to get a vinyl roof on it, make it quicker and stop quicker basically a mild 70s street machine... we'll see. Theres a long thread on here about this one. Heres a pretty good celebration of the Capri!

Some great advice from nickwheeler over the years and even helped me with some suspension parts! By the way Nick, I like the £25 daily! haha That was over thirty years ago; I looked a lot younger then. And that £25 wasn't for the car, but for the petrol the previous owner had put in it about ten miles before blowing up the original 1.6. I paid £75 for a complete 2.0l out of a mkIV Cortina, heaved it in(it fell out the back of the Cortina estate I borrowed to collect it in which is another story) and a week later four of us set off for 2000miles in France. We didn't even bother changing the oil.
