1975 Lada 2106
Youtube: Pennygarage for a video build
I've had the car for 2 years and I've been building it up so this build thread the first few pages will be me catching up and a rewind of the last 2 years of ownership.
Okay as I find myself on here more and more frequently and I keep pondering about doing a build thread. I've decided to give it a go as I miss the forum days and build threads. But I'm going to start from the beginning and update when I can.
So let's rewind 2 years. From the start up until now I will post everything I've done so far in seperate posts.
After having my previous lada 2101 in the bodyshop for 2 years and a 3k bill and constant let downs and mess ups. And the car not even being half done (I can't sink another 3k into it to get the other half done) I decided to pull out and scrap the car right away from all the stress and heartbreak it caused I just wanted to forget about it and start again. So I sold all the spares i had and incredibly managed to raise enough money to buy the next Lada. A lada 2106 1600.
Step 1. Rent a van and pick up the old lada from the bodyshop. Get upset a little (okay maybe a lot) d drop it round my friends for £300 so he can turn it into a bbq.
Quite gutting as it had over £300 worth of brand new suspension and brand new LSD on it but I did not have the space or so I thought.
Step 2. Never look back and collect the new lada. New project. Fresh start
Strapping up
Got spotted on the way home
And she's home in the rented council garage whilst I figure out what to do next.
The car had been used by the BBC previously. It had been in a series called City and the city. Here's a few screen grabs and the fictional number plates that where on the car whilst it was being filmed.
It was also in the final scene of "The detectorists"
After that. It went to a friend of mine and he fitted air ride to it and started to fit a new front end on it. Until I got my hands on it.
Please bare with me whilst I get used to posting on forums again and go through hundreds of photos. I can promise you a very good thread though. I'm looking forward to telling my story through a forum
