Thinking about getting a project for the winter. Something I can keep in our single rather full garage. The garage can be re-arranged to make a car fit but ideally I want something small so I can still get to the back of the garage.
I was thinking about a Midget or a mini I'm prefering the Midget Idea tbh but any suggestions as what to get. I want something that will need minor restoration so I can start welding again and maybe actually get some practice this time!!

Fiat 126. If anyone wonders why I keep recommending these, it's because I farking love them! I love Minis and Midgets too, but the 126 is just that little bit less obvious.

My dad is going to put his Midget up for sale its a 1964 square wheel arched one in red (1275cc) needs a bit of tidying but was on the road at the start of this year, good condition considering it was restored 12 years ago, havent really got much time at the minute to get him to e-mail me pictures and do a full post on it. If you are interested i will find the time to get pictures for you.

Get a nice little 205 XS, UK Rallye or other 1360 TU engined variant. They go for silly money, can look awesome, handle like a dream and parts are cheap as fook. I'm not biased at all.

Part of things
Don't like stretched tyres, very low profile tyres & I think a car CAN be too low. Perhaps I'm odd.

How about a DAF. Rarely seen on here, rarely taken seriously. Very compact, an engine that can be pulled out by hand, a lovely elastic band set up and serious potential........to be different!!!

Triumph 1300 (FWD) is a twee little thing. Nice interiors as well, plus they go pretty nicely with a little fettling Very modern to drive, too, reputedly.

I've been driving around in a relatively rust-free Austin A40 running a Canems engine management/fuel injection setup (happily cruise at 80mph!!) with Rostyle wheels that's up for sale for £900ovno.
It wouldn't take much to be mint, and would be great to modify as a grand's worth of work and kit (at least) has gone into it, and that's in addition to buying the car.

LOL at the 9 Turbo comment. I'm trying to not repeat the disaster that was that by getting something that will actually fit in the garage/carport area of the drive and still have room to work on it. Its gunna be british whatever it is. Something that needs light restoration. I've become more friendly with the next door neighbour and he's a welder by trade ;D so even if he doesn't weld it he can show me what to do/set my welder up properly!
