Hi all, just joined the forum. Being a lover of all cars I’ve got a particular soft spot for 90’s Toyotas. Having had a raft of Starlets, Mr2’s and a GT4, I’ve settled on quite a special little E11 Corolla TTE. Big plans to follow.
Thanks for the kind words, I miss my gt4 badly but they’re crazy money now.
For those who don’t know the background of these corollas- everything you see externally is Toyota factory original. It was called the WRC replica kit and could be specced on any colour car. The white ones were obviously the favourite and were usually on display in dealerships (like my local one when I was a lad).
The kits consisted of:
.TTE front bumper with optional fogs .TTE rear spoiler .TTE springs (shocking ride quality) .MIM wheels in white .Two TTE exhaust options (single or twin) .Optional sticker kit
Germany got the same kit but it was called something different and most were black. I believe somewhere else also got them just in white (maybe Spain) but with not so nice 5 spoke wheels.
Mine has everything apart from the sticker kit. I have the twin pipe exhaust but have the single pipe ready to go on.
I used to own one a long time ago as a second car when I had the gt4. The idea was to save the mileage on the gt4 but I started pouring money in to the Corolla. That was all white and I preferred it. I think the current one looks good with them but once removed, they will be staying off as I prefer the cleaner look.
As you can see, the wheels advertised are not the ones they went with. And I’m glad they didn’t as I prefer the ones fitted. I’ll start the thread properly soon (from purchase and what’s been done so far). Just need to finish my Starlet GT turbo first.
