Kate Beckinsale for me, specifically in the Underworld series.
regarding the car, part of the appeal of these cars is we can customise them to our liking. the so called 'purists' don't seem to understand that we are keeping the cars on the road instead of being crushed.
i shall be reading on with interest.
can we start doing a sweepstake on what colour it's going to be?

She lives in my village actually Igor. MrsM regularly sees her in Sainsburys. Not as she was in The Goode Life, unfortunately.

The cars are not really being customised as such, the changes will be quite subtle, more like something that the factory could have done. Re the sweepstake, at the moment rust & red primer looks like a winner.

Having owned (and used daily) a Standard 10 I can say with confidence "they all do that sir"!
This looks like it will be a good save.

These little pop riveted plates were so crude that I thought that there were a later bodge, they were in fact original from the factory, they went out with the scrap, I will not be reproducing them.

The Companions were converted from saloons by one of the famous coach builders associated with high end cars at the time. IIRC it was Mulliners or Park Ward or similar. Those brackets may have something to do with that, because none of the four saloons I've got have them.

Oh this looks good. I must admit as others have said the earlier front end is much more appealing. Good luck with your restoration. I've just bought my first Standard although mine is a 1948 Standard 8.
