Back in February, I found myself tanked up on a heady brew of retro-car/rusty-stuff withdrawals, mind bending boredom, and a lesser-spotted iota of spare cash (as opposed to speckled hen, for a bloody change).
I was “window shopping” the classifieds one dingy afternoon. On the grounds that I am a reasonably competent welder/fabricator who has sort of wanted a jaguar since he was about 6, I decided to “Just go and take a look”. Now we all know what that means, don’t we.
Next thing I know, my nice sensible modern benz is on eBay and I’m on a train to Dorset. It was at this point I feared I was on a slippery slope. In some sort of grip. As if my hedonism had got the better of me, christ, why couldn’t you have just stuck to the speckled hen David you tool?!
As found, ie on the night I bought it home!
The eagle-eyed among you will notice that it is RobinOliver of this parish’s old car, now there’s a man with an infninitely more fascinating four-wheeled addiction than most to feed! Seriously though, a very nice bloke who makes a good coffee, who was more than to ply me with not only a Jag, but a shedload of spare parts and useful advice/contacts for a very reasonable price indeed.
I prised my from the lovely, squishy drawing-room that is that interior, and took some nice pictures.
