Doing well with the wrap, have wrapped a couple of awkward non car things & the only tip I learnt (after) was if you need to do a drastic curve - you pre heat & stretch the wrap & when you re-heat it, it shrinks around the thing. I havent put it into practice though! Thanks for the tip. I'll keep that in mind when I jump back in to it next week.

Well done on your first go...it's a very difficult thing to get right...too little heat and it won't flex enough, too much and you risk stretching and tearing. I wouldn't be afraid of pulling up a section and relaying it a few times tbh...although not right now obviously 🙂 A super sharp scalpel and really good squeegee can go a long way...as well as a second pair of hands. I think I need to practice a bit more with the heat gun. Must look around and seen if anything else needs to be green as well

My daughter was 5 on Friday so we decided to make a weekend of it and headed to Legoland Germany. It's about 3 hours from here so we stayed in Ulm for 2 nights. This was the first chance to stretch the legs on the 528 and it did not disappoint, cruising at 220kph/136mph with such ease that the birthday girl fell asleep at that velocity while the other two passengers didn't even notice. Legoland was awesome and I grabbed a few retro spots in the hotel carpark. Lovely "Damen" 60 356 also visiting from Zurich Very clean original Audi driven by a hotel member of staff Fantastic e32 When I arrived back this was waiting for me That'll be the remainder of the wrap. My wife is off to Ireland for a long weekend so the window to get this done is upon me. Sat-Mon evenings are now blocked. Let's get this finished.

X1 sold today. So that's the 3 out that needed to be sold here in Switzerland.
Situation overall is that we have the family car sorted now with the 528iX Estate. It turns out that my wife really likes driving it so the "need" for a SUV is now parked for a couple of years. I will invest in a little bit of chip tuning to bump it to 280hp or so. I'm waiting on the GR86. I'll check in with the dealership this week as it's 1 month since the order went in to see what the eta is looking like.
The Speedster needs 2 things, I need to finish the wrap which should happen this weekend and I need to finally get around to tuning the ECU.
On the Irish side, the Starlet is good to go. When I'm back in July/August I'll put a bunch of miles on it and if the schedules line up I'll try and get a competitive event completed.
That leaves the Subaru in Ireland. I need to offload it as well but it's really just from the aspect of having it hanging around my parent's place. I'll get that solved when I'm back in July as well.

"your GR86 should arrive in June “worst case” July"
The excitement it building, I might actually get this thing!

The postman dropped off a timely prop this morning which I have temporarily placed within easy reach for the evening(s) ahead, and stocked accordingly!

I'm sure that will come in very handy It did ;-) However, this is slooooow progress. I guess I spent 3 hours last night just doing this section at the rear. There are creases and I had to section it out in places as I ran out of talent. The last hour I noticed that I became a bit better and started to develop a process. It's not going to be "great" but this car is about function over form so as long as it's passable I'll survive. Back at it tonight.

It’s now wrapped. It’s rough as a badgers posterior and it’s patches galore but I’m glad I had a go at it myself.

Next thing is to finally work on maximising the new set up. This is all dark arts to me but you have to keep learning right! I ran the fuel learn mode on the way back from the office yesterday. I have all the right aspects talking to each other but not for long enough. So it will run a very short log and then stop. First thoughts are definitely user error so I'll jump back into the manual and see if (definitely where) I have gone wrong

Ok, round two. It's a little later that expected as I messed up my knee (extend of which still to be determined) playing football last Friday and today was the first day I could manage a clutch. So, good news is I have figured out how how it should log and I pulled a decent, if incomplete, log on the way to the office this morning. The bad news is I miscalculated how much battery the laptop would use while sitting in the passenger seat and just as I was 50% through syncing it powered down and the data is lost. Round 3 will be another attempt on the way home this afternoon.

3rd time's the charm. Well, we shall see if it makes a difference but I have successfully logged the main fuel table and then updated the ECU with a new base programme. Yes I do wear that hat while driving. Keeps my hair in check and stops the sun melting me. 27c here today. There it is. Let's see if it works

I've skipped this thread for a while, and have been attempting to read it. However, the time has now come where I am able to do so thankfully. It's been worth going through it, I must say! It's great seeing the changes that you have done, in addition to seeing how certain aspects are different. Only somewhere else, some was slating these as being the poor cousin of the Elise, due to GM building in Understeer etc. That said, I did debate one of these when I got my M3, along with a few other cars. The practicality side put me off, as then, I needed a Jack of most trades. Part of me does wish I went for something like these mind you. I have been enjoying the updates. It will be one I keep an eye on .
