Hi together, its now a couple of month since my last post! Sadly the CB5 is still waiting for production molds done in UK. Looks like in spring it will be done now.
In the meantime i had a couple of projects in my mind, thinking about one of my alltime favorites i starte to build a California Spider after sending out the CB5 to UK

started with a bad body available on the market, plan was to improve shape and fitment and finish the body in short time. As normal the body was in a much more worse condition i expected. Not one panel was useable as it was supplied, so i had to rethink the project complete. Instead of building streight forward i had to build up the body nearly new.

even supplied lights didnt fit... the rear end body was to short to fit the tail light proper

so starting to change hights , shapes, , ordered nice chrome parts from new supplier and changed the body to get symmetrical between left and right... much more than normal body prep was needed--- on the front the left side needed about 15 mm to be symmetric...

made new front wheearches because sills of the donor look inside the the arch, and cutting is not allowed here in Germany by TÃœV

we made it in black to see all imperfections , happy with the body i started with my lhd interior. Got supplied a rhd version and worked on the conversion. by the way, last black body picture shows the new wheelarch without sticking out Z3 sill, only a smal detail but showing we take care about everything....

pictures from design phase interior made the dash in 2 versions, a California look and one more Lusso for a coupe i have to work on while waiting for the molds
did underestimate the amount of work for a nice interior, so a couple of trial and error phases to get the look i want
made the dash in 3 pieces, so it should be easier for the inter guys to cover in leather in the quality iam looking for picture from finished layout before molding will start

with little change i have the Lusso version as well without the effort to do it again from scratch. didnt like this work as the bodywork but essential for the classic feeling you should have sitting and driving the car. So nothing crys anymore : iam a Z3 you are sitting in..

now waiting for getting molds done and getting back the prototype, plan was original to relax a little pit but my partner had a long time wish.
He had ordered 3 years ago a one off coupe, styled or inspired from the F 275 Speciale

Problem i have with the car is that it was not done in the best way , so for me a ugly conversion
Doing it correct is a hell of work, nearly the same amount like starting from scratch.
So i have been allowed to change everything i don't like, and that was a lot....
maybe easier to start a new build thread because this will be a longer process starting November this year.
i think i will call it the 275 Speciale
