Nice.
The guy who sold me my wheels for the S10 has a 4.3 V6 and Auto Chevy from his GMC Sonoma to sell.
He lives near Blackbushe in Hampshire.
Message me if you want more info.

if you want something in keeping with the period a Daimler V8 would work well.

Trying to write this without sounding like a curse word, but struggling....
To be blunt, the proportions of what youβre planning are way off. . That period of cab is way too big for the chassis you have. Just looking at the side view you need getting on for a couple of feet more wheelbase for it to look right. Also very tall wheels and tyres, Probably taller than that chassis can handle. Those cabs also very wide, almost wider than your axles, and it wonβt look right unless the wheels stick out enough.
Say for example If the cab is 6β longer, wider and taller than an earlier one, the size of everything else needs to be adjusted to suit. So the bed would need to be 6β longer, the engine compartment the same, which means easily a foot on the wheelbase.
I have a lot of experience here, and the guy you bought the cab off bought one of my previous builds rather than do his own build using that cab.
You could section, narrow and shorten the cab to fit your current chassis, but thatβs a huge amount of work. I would suggest, before you go any further, getting a bigger chassis. Something like a light truck with 20β plus wheels and a longer wheelbase. If you buy right you could end up with a Cummins 6bt powered donor and use the full chassis and running gear, and it would all look right then.

Hi, No worries at all man.......open to suggestions with this one π I may be doing away with the front clip of this, I like the look of the solid/hairpin axle type (new to the terminology) That would extend the wheel base to how I see it in my head I may chop the top too, which will help with the look and proportions..I think This is the sort of look I wanna go for

This was the last late body truck i built. The wheelbase was 113β which is 8β longer than yours according to the interwebs. My cab was about 48β from cab back to firewall. Bed was also 48β long and centred on the axle, giving 24β from axle centreline to cab back. That leaves 41β from firewall to front wheel centres. By the time youβve got a grille on there in front of the axle, it ends up being about 3 even chunks proportionally. Rear tyres were 33β tall, fronts 28β, and they still donβt look that big in comparison to the whole truck. Your cab will be longer so will need a lot more chassis length to make it work without looking really stubby. Also bear in mind that chopping a truck makes the lower doors look really Big and slabby as proportionally they have increased in size hugely compared to the Windows. You could stretch it out by fitting a beam axle a bit further forwards, but i reckon the amount you need for the size of the cab is gonna be about 120-125β, which is a bit beyond the capabilities of the chassis you have.

I reckon a '32 Ford pickup would work very well on that chassis

Had an afternoon spare, sun was out so busted out the grinder Chopped the floor out and sunk the body over the frame Waiting on some wheels, then il know how much further I want to drop the body down. Then il make up a floor frame/structure to secure it all Looks better already though in my eyes

I'm really hoping that you'll be fitting some coal rolling obnoxious diesel engine. An OM606 would be ace!

My chassis was rover p2. They pop up often enough sub-2k with paperwork. Theyβre underslung at the back so easy to get low, and Already on a beam at the front too. Theyβre mechanical brakes but very easy to covert to hydraulic.

Get one of the Aussie inhabitants on here to ship you a barra. 4 litre straight 6 turbo, keeps it Ford, and I think they take 400bhp easy enough without opening them. When I have the cash and the time, and a bigger shed, I'm going to build a barra ratrod on a newer chassis.

Made a start on the raised/channeled floor of the cab today........so glad Iβve got this forklift, makes it million times easier [emoji41][emoji109] Pretty happy with it so far, now I can bolt it to the chassis, and panel it out [emoji106] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

doodling a 40s car over your proportions shows that Dez is onto something maybe the channel needs to be deeper. I've just blocked in the masses with the existing colours, but it might be worth a shot with some cardboard, full size

That truck has a distinctive look, and given the legal parameters you have to live with, I can see why you went with it. But from the front axle line forward, that truck is a mess. I bet its even worse from a 3/4 angle. What I'd do to clean that up on your truck, is use a Ford Pop grille. I think it would mask the forward heavy ( or front axle back ) design of the truck. And it would embrace the fact that is built in the UK. An Ex-Pat buddy of mine used a Pop grille on his '34 Coupe for a while, and I thought it looked fantastic... ( and maybe trim and pinch the front framehorns to follow the lines of the grille better)
