Having owned a 944S2 Porsche which was a fantastic car, I would have another one but I was always waiting on a big expense if it went pop.
I love Mercedes, one with plenty of power and all the toys please, and of course an old but sound jaguar would be on my list.
However with 5 cars at present I don't really need anything else, but that never stopped any of us before!

The more I hear about them, the less I worry about the complexity .... The 2.2 unit in the turbos is apparently one of the strongest engines citroen made, the steering self centres, and the footbrake is essentially an on/off switch. Add to that the amazing dashboard, and the vertically mid-mounted stereo - and those seats! I would go for the CX Turbo II estate, although a saloon wouldn't be ignored!

My youngest has his eye on a '52 Morris Oxford. It's 1000 miles away from where we live and hasn't had a wof/mot in years (no exemptions here). He's keen for me and him to fly one way and drive home. A sort of boys' own road trip. His mother is encouraging him in this madness. Am I crazy to even entertain the idea?

One of my criteria in women selection has always been this. Go Do it.

All of them have been great. If you have management approval and a credit card surely you have to?

Having owned a 944S2 Porsche which was a fantastic car, I would have another one but I was always waiting on a big expense if it went pop. THIS right here. I waited years to get a 911 - dream car and all that. But every time I drive it there's a nagging feeling that if anything goes wrong it'll cost at least 4 figures to fix. There have definitely been times when I've jumped in one of the other £300 sheds over the Porsche because it was there ready and waiting...if it goes bang I don't care. Can genuinely see me keeping it for a couple of years and then just going back to cheap retro chod that I'm not afraid to work on myself.

I'm tempted by a Peugeot 1007 or a Renault Modus for daily duties.
Yes, I'm aware they're not retro.

I've wanted a Citroen XM (preferably estate) for ages. Maybe when travelling around the country seems like a good idea again I might get one as a road trip car. It won't fit in the garage, it's a bit complicated to work on on the driveway, and it doesn't strike me as a fun sunny day car, which is why I chose a Y10 this summer.

I'm tempted by a Peugeot 1007 or a Renault Modus for daily duties. Yes, I'm aware they're not retro. Interesting reading. I like them, like the Berlingo, I suspect it will surprise and please in equal measure. Renault's bid to dominate the small minivan segment with its Modus has failed. But the Modus' platform sibling, the Nissan Note, is a success story so far.
More Notes are being built than Moduses. Since the Note went on sale in March, Nissan built 64,417 units, according to J.D. Power Automotive Forecasting. By comparison, Renault built only 48,725 units of the Modus in the first seven months of 2006. The Modus launched two years ago.
Industry observers believe the Modus is failing because the car is priced too high and its 198-liter luggage capacity is too small.
"My feeling is that the equipment levels and pricing are out on the Modus," said Andrew Wright, a manufacturing analyst at CSM Worldwide’s office in London.
Wright said the Modus could be too expensive for young people and it does not have enough space to make it interesting to older buyers who can afford it.
The Modus and Note are an example of increasing technology sharing between alliance partners Renault and Nissan. The minivans are underpinned by the same platform and have similar engines. But the Note is 291mm longer than the Modus and has 50 percent more cargo space.
The Note sells at a higher price than the Modus in most European markets. The Nissan model starts at E13,690 in Germany, while Modus prices begin at E11,300.

My sis-in-law is a baker by trade and runs a Nissan Note. The way she treats cars many would have fallen by the wayside, but that Note is a trooper. Can't praise it enough!

I’ve been looking for a sensibly priced black TVR Cerbera with black interior for some time. Just need to build a large enough garage to store it together with my TVR Vixen 🤔

I've been looking at cheap, four seater convertibles for me and my young family to have some fun with and have narrowed it down to one of these. There seems to be quite a few reasonably priced for their condition at the moment.

Renault 19 Chamade. Not as ambitious as some on here, but I'd love an early 90s Renault of some kind. I like the Chamade for its rarity. Loved mine. It was RT trim, aux input on the stereo, steering wheel controls, electric windows, PAS. On a 93 plate!

Where are you based? We live in South Otago. The car in question is in Northland. It's advertised on trademe. Doesn't look too bad in the photos but it's anybody's guess what it's really like.

W126 Mercedes. 500SEL or 560SEL. Must be fully loaded and have a velour interior with the stripey bolsters: Upsettingly I missed the boat on them when they were cheap... I had a 420SE, about 6 years ago. They are fantastically capable cars but, for me, they are soulless. Horses for courses and all that. I have a space in the garage and I am looking for something, not sure what though. I do quite fancy one of these. Prices are very reasonable and it would sit well with my Firebird, perhaps. I have also spotted one of these for sale... The price is very right and insurance, having done the comparing ( didn't bother getting classic car insurance quotes ) could put me in the car for under £130 fully comp. Tempting.
