Manta coupe looks nicer than the hatches in my opinion an that would be a fantastic colour to have one in. Must have got my first escort in 2000ish which was a red forest arched 2 door an bought a gold 4 door shortly after back when they could be had for the kinda money you can find down the back of the sofa

wow thats a familiar story ive a mk2 as well ive had 13ish years i used it loads till i had twin boys lol, then it went in to storage ive now moved house and currently in the process of building a big garage so i can get it back home finished and used ha ha ,anyway your looks smart pal really like its simplicity
id guess at the seats being astra gte i had some out of a manta gte in mine

Lovely car, lovely colour. Reminds me of the Mk2 1300GL I looked at with a mate with a potential to be my first car. We walked away as the wheel bearings were shot and its doors were rather obviously stuffed full of P38 and the Clacton Gazette. I was then brought up on Minis but have always thought about the Escort that got away  |

Same here, 1988, passed my test got a bank loan for £1800, sold my Kadett Coupe, looking for a car with my old man and a guy pulls up in a white 1980 RS 2000, he was in the car showroom looking at a jelly mould Sierra (84), my old man says ask him what he wants for it? I says, I could never afford that dad........guy leaves with his missus amd new Sierra, and I ask him how much they gave him for it......£1200....another one that got away! Would happily have my Coupe back now but they’ve gone the same way as the Escorts!

Husband to wife to nephew. I suppose just because I bought it from Norwich doesn’t mean it started out there which I what I always thought. |

That’s how an Escort should be. I use mine for competition, never wash it, it’s got filler falling off it after dings and I even let my 15 year old drift it around our field.
