Finally some good weather for a wash and a quick photo of the current daily.
Recap of recent faff:
- Lowered 40mm. - New foam in the front seats. - Replaced speakers.
To do:
- Replace hydraulic boot stays. - Re-attach mudflaps threatening to break free.
- Add bluetooth or aux to stereo.
- Put some spicy carbs on. - Restore G-Corporation "Heart" alloys if they ever arrive from Japan.

Any suggestions for tyre size on the G-Corporation alloys? They're 5.5J 14".
I like a comfy sidewall but don't want it to look silly or scrape - 165/70 R14?

70 profile would be way too much for me, I have a 65 profile on some 13 inch wheels that I'm only using as they were brand new and came with the car.

Thought people might appreciate a photo before they inevitably get scratched by lazy tyre fitters and life on the road. Old G-Corporation 'heart' alloys, restored, in Nissan Ivory EJ1.

I don't post much these days, but wow this is perfection. Enjoy

That is great and those wheels are perfect. Regarding the carbs and manifold conundrum, have you checked bike carbs from someone like bogg brothers? I would have thought they would be cheaper than a grand?
Loving what you have done.

How cool to find the right wheels.
With my S10 there are more sexy, prettier by my own admission, but I felt the ZQ8 wheels were just right.
Looking forward to seeing these on.
I do hope the tyre fitters manage to fit them up without damage.
Could you challenge them on fitting, at their risk?
If they can fit 96% of wheels without damage..... surely the odds are in your favour if you actually challenge them and ensure an experienced fitter does your wheels.
Good luck, regardless.

Despite liberal use of Servisol Super-10 and thorough cleaning I can't get the Pao's tape deck to work. Therefore all I have is the AM/FM radio.
Rather than bypass the rather unique head-unit amp combo entirely I'm wondering if I can identify the tape deck part channel output wires and solder those to a phono-in rather than the tape deck, but I'm staring at twelve, TWELVE, pins/wires that connect the tape deck part to the rest.
I'm assuming that's roughly...
1. Power 2. Ground 3. Play/pause 4. FF 5. RW 6. PRO (?) 7. Stop/Eject 8-9. Right channel (2) 10-11. Left channel (2) 12. Tape present signal
No obvious markings on the circuits...

About the radio, do you hear the tape spinning? Most of the time when I encounter a broken tapedeck it's the belts, they decay and turn into a sticky mess. Thorough clean and a new belt (sometime you can find a kit for the specific model, or you can get them by length). Although I must admit I've never had a car stereo open, so don't know if it even has belts.
The wheels look great, perfect for the car!

i was a bit sad to see the pressed steels go, but those heart alloys are sufficiently kooky to pull it off

Not everyone likes a personal plate. I do like some, and was looking for a cheapy for Sally. Saw this. £50.00 plus VAT and DVLA £80.00 fee. Website/seller at the top of the pic.

With a pop and a crunch I think the gearbox went last night. Rebuilding one of those chocolate boxes probably isn't worth it even if the parts were available so I'm looking at the K11 Micra motors and box, preferably the little 998cc CG10DE. I can always convert it back to carbs later right?

I love these cars and would love to drive one someday. I've always felt they'd look really sharp with some Watanabe's or SSR MK-II's.

1. Find another K10 gearbox. 2. Swap for CG10 or CG13. 3. Swap for Rover K-Series. 4. Small (Jinmy/Panda?) 4WD drivetrain swap.
Still at the research stage.
