I've got adjustable seats... Just use the spanner (no i haven't tried this with a MOT tester). Love it. Wonder if that would wash. I like those more modern lights. At the end of the day, the Capri lights would have been used because they were cheap and available when the car was originally built, not because they were physically, dynamically or aesthetically the best ones for the job. If f they’re genuinely going to cost that much to replace the one missing lens, then I’d be looking to find something better looking, better performing and more easily replaced; and selling the originals on to someone with a Capri to offset the outlay. The main thing is to hold your horses until you can see exactly what’s been done to the tub to fit them, because ideally you want any replacements to be an easy fit rather than sparking a whole raft of unnecessary bodywork. Agreed, I do like the look of them I was wondering if you wanted a set of Jeepy lights from here. They're not that expensive. You'd have to have the obligatory kit car Ring fog light bolted on somewhere though, they're 21/5 red and a clear lens, with reflector. Phil Thanks for the PM’s PhilA and the offer. Let’s see what we have to work with when this thing lands here. Kinky brokey. Yes. When I helped my mate finish his Dutton Phaeton in the 80s we fell foul of it. That was pre IVA, just the MoT test. The car’s got to be drivable by another in an emergency, and that person might not be the same size as you. It doesn’t need to be infinitely adjustable, but it has to allow a “reasonable range of adjustment”. Things change, so it might be worth checking, but regs have got tougher, not slacker, in the last 30 odd years. Might be a case of luck. My Dutton has fixed seats and passed many MOTs like that. Only one it failed was due to "presented in a state that was too dangerous to test" or similar. Transpired the MOT tester was the size of a truck and couldn't fit. Looking at the current regs on the .Gov website, any adjusting mechanism must work, but it doesn't specifically state that there must actually be a mechanism. The Phaeton had a legs outstretched driving position and, to be fair, I couldn't drive it with the seat fixed in position for my mate. He just chucked a pair of Land-Rover runners under it and represented it the following day. Often open to interpretation ehhhh. Don’t know him, but nice to see people in their natural habitat. Years ago there was a TV series called trouble shooter. It was about failing businesses. The main guy visited Triang toys where they were making a green plastic army jeep. It had shovels and picks moulded into the sides. The firm went bust and the director setup on his own. He started making jeeps for girls in pink but they were still in the same moulds with a pick and shovel on. It was quite funny really. That is funny. Also shows that sometimes it is function over form |

Discovered an older thread via Google Images tonight. Do not discount the Two Wellers you have, depending on what you have. Someone else may have one or two as well. I think right now, finding an appropriate rear light lens is much more interesting Fingers crossed your rummage unearths some treasures. |

Funny how when you look around, once you find something, there suddenly are more of them. Saw this on FB Marketplace this morning. £1500.00 May need some work though, like the one I got, plus of course transport, unless it is your neighbour Driver side  Other side  Front side  Inside  Guess we will be having fun. |

We still have a load of brilliant threads, thankfully like PhilA. , ivanhoew fr€$h&m1nt¥ ...... and many other, you included, just look in the Readers Rides section. I guess people are just looking for a clown, or somewhere to relax for a moment. I really don’t know, 6600 views in less than 7 days....... But I am always thankful that the people on this forum see and feel they are a part of my “builds” I may own them, and spend most of the cash, but they are shared, and we all learn from each other. I still love that whole mindset. Hopefully the car, and steel structure for the carport will both land here by next week. In other news. Mate Bill in Glasgow wanted to go see if the steering wheel from the red car was removable....... red and black. He will also investigate the seat base of the passenger seats, to see if they are interchangeable with the red, to lose all the weighty motors in the drivers side and get both on ADJUSTABLE runners, which suits me very much. He sent a pic of my knob.  To me, this whole layout is perfect, even the stupid horns on the hood.  . |

You'll need a 6sp MX5 box now... Imagine that. Would be cool, but unless if fell off the back of a truck.... probably costly as an option I do not think that is an original knob. Anyone know differently ? |
