Sorry to say Retro Rides Weekender 2020 at Goodwood is cancelled. We’ll be sending out emails in the coming weeks to all ticket holders with details on refunds or carry over options. The dates for 2021 are 22nd and 23rd May.
More details:
Two weeks ago and all things seemed to be pointing to us being able to run Retro Rides Weekender safely and successfully. Then on Friday 31st July the government announced they were putting the brakes on opening up, that's when we figured it would be unlikely we'd be running Weekender. The announcement also meant the cancellation of the public attendance for Goodwood’s pilot project on 1st August at the racecourse. We had a conversation with them, and we all agreed that the September date would not be happening. So that was that. Super disappointed.
We plan to offer both refunds and ticket carry overs. The situation is a little complicated as we changed over purchasing systems and banks in the middle of this ticket cycle (typical that it would be this year that refunds would become an issue), so it is going to need some organising to manage all this. The plan is to send out an email to all ticket holders over the next week or so with a link to click if you want a refund or if you want to hold on to your ticket until next year. If you are able to carry over we would very much appreciate it, however we will be able to cover all refunds if needs be.
I'd like to offer a huge thank everyone that has stuck with us through two event postponements and all this uncertainty, the enthusiasm for our events has meant a lot on this very difficult year. We'd like nothing more than the ridiculous stress organising these events can be right now, sadly it is not to be. We will be back in 2021 (all being well!) and can’t wait to see what you all bring to the show.
On the plus side for the forum and community side of things I've got more time to dedicate here to make it as good as it can be
