It was based on the stock block, that's all I know. I remember it went through gearboxes every few hundred miles and a built box didn't last Much more than 2000 miles so he just kept swapping in stock boxes. I also remember it putting a rod through the front of the block once and punched a hole right through the rad and grill 😂 Went through spark plugs very regularly and tyres like no tomorrow. Was used in anger alot 😉 Pretty sure it was in max power at the time. His dad drag raced a 4 pot cortina if I remember right. Family name is Webb, if anyone knows them. Not spoke to him in 25 years! Hahaha aww that gives me the fear like my old ones ive owned non stop troubles and they never had anywhere near that power Ive stuck a rather large turbo on this hopefully doesnt lag much and can still have some fun in it without it popping It was apparently the quickest one in the country at the time but the motor was built for very short usage between rebuilds and was a bit experimental. It never held together for long, spent most of its time on his drive in bits. If i ever speak to him again ill find out the spec and see if he has any old pics. Was a white one on cosworth wheels. Had 'turbo' written down the doors in big blue letters for a while. Was a well known car in Essex at the time. It's why I've always had a soft spot for these even though I've never owned a ford later than 1962.

That’s a hell of a lot work that’s gone into that build. You should be proud of that. I always preferred the mk3 to the mk4.

Thanks mate it was built to be well used and stay solid, i think theres more pics in that link than the other post ive been 2/3 hours every monday for 2 years exactly always good when you can shut the door and walk away then return a week later with a beer and a plan for whats next, never wanted to annoy myself with doing it thats why i only done it once a week but now its round at my garage rather than the mother in laws so i can pop out everynight with more beers hahaha If the sun stays out today it will have its first run around the block wish me luck Del

Great stuff get some pics up when it arrives Will do, I'll probably get a thread going as my cars don't usually stay standard - although the plan is to keep this one pretty original! I do have a couple of other cars but unfortunately slightly too new for RR.

Sorry ive not updated folks been busy with other things Decided to fit the fuel cell and twin pumps and swirl pot with some 10mm coated micro bore pipe as the feed does the job great and just take the outer coating off at the hose join Used some shallow slotted unistrut to bolt it to the floor Just waiting on a front flexi pipe then i can have the car remapped as the RM racing ecu is flooding my engine and I'm ready to go mental with it Then should be good to have a drive
