**Bit of a thread revival/update** Unfortunately, due to the current crisis we find ourselves in, progress has been pretty much non existent. I am however in the process of preparing a new home for the polo which should be ready in the coming weeks. During this time I have also been changing my plans for the car and thinking of different ways in which I would want to go about it. I have decided upon a GTI inspired car a bit like this.... Here are a few photos of the garage clean up.... I didn’t have many photos of pre clean up but the garage was full to the brim. The plans are to build a workbench along this wall. Other than that and a bit more painting the garage is ready. I also managed to get this knocked up at work. I need a few more bits fabricating but it’s the start of my rotisserie.

Looks like a very high ceiling can you not squeeze a mezzanine storage floor in one end ? ?

Looks like a very high ceiling can you not squeeze a mezzanine storage floor in one end ? ? It is a possibility, i think the angle of the picture is slightly deceiving. Once the shelves are stacked and various tools are hung on the wall there isn’t actually a great deal of space left.

Came home to a small delivery.... Now this is my first dabble in joinery and I’m quite pleased with the outcome so far. Everything was done pretty much by eye. Considering the floor is uneven and the wood wasn’t the straightest, not too bad I’d say.... Sorry to stray away from the Polo but hopefully I will continue the updates in the new year.

Added a bit more to the bench this evening. I need to add a support on each side at the back of the bench and replicate the top. Ran out of wood so will have to order some more.

All the sets of P’s that were reasonably priced all had the centre caps missing. I remember seeing an episode of car SOS and they 3D printed the centre caps for a Mk1 Astra GTE which came out really well.

I think they look better without. I polished a set for my old mk2 with black Centre and P's and they looked great.

Hope I'm not alone in liking that green, wouldn't look terrible on a white car. Polished is nice too like the ones on the Golf of course. What you really need to do is get some Mk2 Golf steels and have someone paint the doughnut bit of them to look like polo mints

Brilliant stuff. But yeah, you do whatever you're going to do, as was said earlier you really can't go wrong with P-slots on a Polo, whatever you do with them.

I've met him at a couple of meets. He painted the car himself as well in his back yard. Its a very cool little Polo.

Massively approve, it's not often a novelty theme is so well executed. That's a really nice colour for the paint on its own too.
