Re-Painted the grille with grey bumper paint because it was all.. weird. Mounted the front bumper and lights, front bumper didn’t actually fit the irons, not a huge surprise. Had to redrill the holes in the bumper to line up with the irons but no big deal. Tailgate and such all assembled. Had to make new tail-light gaskets from mouse-pads, easiest way to get neoprene foam. Rear bumper mounted and fitted so it doesn’t sag under the tail lights. Still find the finish impressive for aerosol.

The colour looks amazing! Are you going to paint the bumpers too? Either gray or blue?

Do you know who first supplied this car or where? GTT plates seem familiar and wondered if it was from Kent?
Looking great by the way.

Both the colour choice and finish are excellent. The cans I ordered have turned up, so hopefully I'll get a chance to have a bit practice.

Had a Babbacombe Mazda dealer sticker on the boot but it could have been from anywhere. The last MOT was done moderately locally to me in 2008 by CROWN Garage in Bath who are still operating. I’ll have a check and remind myself where it was registered.

I did think it was. TT registrations are Devonshire. This is a useful ‘tool’, will tell you the area registered if you enter the reg at the bottom of the page. www.newreg.co.uk/dvla-number-plate-identifiers/

I MOT’d it, passed (unsurprisingly), so I’ve been just piling on some miles to run the motor in. It’s quite good fun. Goes pretty well. Need to finish Dynax-ing the underbody, and start making an exhaust.

That looks perfect.
The trend of baby blue cars seems to have passed a bit at the moment so it's more of a treat when you see one.
I like the contrasting grey bumpers as it looks more original, I would maybe swap the red bumper trim line with blue though.

I can’t have the bumper stripe the same colour as the car though, that’s a weird look. It’s getting changed, but not until the paint has been given a good once over and I can sort the graphics for the sides in the ‘highlight’ colour, then the bumpers will match that

Love it. Remember original Mazda promotional posters with them in that (almost) colour too well.
~ and I can sort the graphics for the sides in the ‘highlight’ colour, then the bumpers will match that
Looking forward to that, since I thought it was missing 'something'. (Aside from the body colour lower bumper valance brightening up it's chin).

(Aside from the body colour lower bumper valance brightening up it's chin). It’s very close to the OE Festiva ‘aqua’ colour, and a few mazda shades too. I never minded the front valance but in my opinion it only looked right viewed from the front or rear, not the side as the rear bumper is a more modern full length bumper but the front had a steel valance sticking out. If anything it should have been a full front bumper. The valance was very rusty and damaged, and would have been a lot of work to repair so I’m glad I snagged possibly the last new Pride bumper that I could find. Give it a bit of a more sporting look to go with the 16V too. That’s my 2p anyway. Graphics will be soon

You’ve done a brill job on this ! I’m really impressed with the paint. No complaints for an aerosol designed for tagging and the like. Think white rims would work for me but it’s your bus.
