Duuuuuuude that looks epic. What's the finish like? Looks pretty shiny already. Finish is great. Few defects in it but nothing I’m worried about. It would have been better to paint panels at a time with the adjacent panel masked off because the blends are harsh but they may polish up, but it looks amazing straight from the can. It’s unreal. Head note made of that advice. Gonna give the Clio a bit of a tart up and I haven't tried the gloss on a big area yet. The results I've had doing practice graphics have been amazing though.

Are you going to clear coat it, or do you think it'll be hard wearing enough? Gotta say it does look really good out of the can, tempts me to have a go on the Polo.

It’s great as long as you don’t then blow and edge over it from the next panel after the first panel is dry if that makes sense, makes a ‘dry’ edge. Panel by panel would yield the best and I mean the best results, it’s a miracle paint..

Couple of coats of wax and it should be fine. If it’s gonna fade it’ll probably do it under clear a bit and then it’s just harder to repaint in future. Should be fine I think.

Ok I've re-Read the thread and there's no mention of miracle paint, what is it, where did you get it and how much was it?
Love the colour. Dan

It’s a high gloss graffiti paint and goes on super easy. ‘Black’ is the satin range, which is just as nice, but I wanted gloss. it’s about £3.80 a can, you can paint a car with a ‘can per panel’ factor, with some left easy.

Wondered if it was Montana. Read about it on here a while back and used it on the Fug and totally agree with what you say. Even I got an acceptable finish Looking good and will be spot on with the wheels

I'm going to order a couple of cans and have a go on a spare bonnet I've got. See how good a result I can get before committing to painting the whole car

If you want to make it even easier from you self get one of them clip on trigger sprays to go on the can.
I’ve done a whole car (truck) in Montana before and the only downside was a sore finger from pressing the cap so much.
It goes further than you think, I bought 10 cans and used 7 and I wasnt being shy with it.

You want a wet coat but obviously just before the point at which is starts to sag. Dries really quickly too.

It’s good you are practicing first, once you get the hang of it you will struggle to get a bad finish.

Liking the results here. I can remember the 121 becoming the Kia Rio and the world being very snobby about them at the time. You only have to look at the wiki page to see how long it was made in Ford Festiva Kia and Mazda formats to know it can’t have been a bad little motor. Friend had a cheap Kia when they were pretty new and swore by it - nippy enough on the 1.3 but just didn’t go round corners, especially on the original tyres. Am I loosing the plot or did they originally come with whitewall tyres? Anyway cracking underdog build. James

Looking forward to seeing this finished.
My dad bought a Kia Pride brand new in 92, he still had it in 2005 - I wasnt a fan & might have broke the dif a bit. He got a whole £50 trade in for it.

James My dad loved his, yes 12" whitewalls when they came out & agree with them being nippy but handled terrible with comical suspension & an auto choke that sat at 2k
