Have a classic Mini and the Rascal, but was always wanting a Mini with a rwd setup. So here it goes. Take a Mini with a bit of work required and Frankenstein it into a 1.8 20v Turbo Rwd. Rust removal and panel repairs.

Do you know what goes well with mental mid engined mini's?
A healthy dose of swaged holes. Just putting it out there.
Looking forward to reading the updates

I've a soft spot for a classic mini since my first car was a c16se powered version that I built from a bare shell up with my dad. Despite the fact I don't really fit in them and they are hateful things to live with haha.
I'd still have some kind of rwd mental engined version tho!
Bookmarked for definite

Nice! I thought FR initially, but mid-rear is going to be very interesting indeed!
Plan on turning the bonnet area into a boot as well?

So are you going to do it the same manners as a Twini but leave out the front engine?

I've been a passenger in a Z-cars mid-engined mini, a 2.0 Type-r version.
It rode and gripped amazingly well, and went like a rocket, but the IVA (as it was then, now SVA) requirements put me off. Not saying it couldn't be done (IIRC there was an IVA/SVA'd one in one of the mini mags?) but it adds a lot to the project

Yup,inside the sill there is a 30mm heavy wall box section which is welded thru to the cage mounts. Well spotted. The donor gave up its engine for a great cause. Getting the axle centre lines in line with the original wheel well. Getting the mounting points lined up so the sump is above the floor pan. Thats it for now. Thanks for the comments everyone.
