Picture of the shell when I got it in June 2013, it had been restored and re-sprayed seven years prior to purchase but not re-built. The Transit was filled with nearly everything else to build the car. I rented space in a garage for the build and finally got it on the road in December 2015. This is the only picture I've got from then as all the others have disappeared. The axle and engine were rebuilt during this time, I wish I'd done the gearbox as the input shaft bearing is now noisy. The car is used all year round, but it's only done around 4000 miles since the re-build. I don't know if I'll ever finish it, the drivers seat needs to be repaired, I need to sort out the light covers and get some spot lamp brackets made. I also have a roll cage and sump guard sitting in the shed waiting to be fitted. The car could do with another re-spray as the paint is bubbling in some places and the paint has cracked where the rear arches bond to the shell.

Very nice car. I have a 73 Manta A & I've just bought a red top. Was there a lot of modification needed to meke the engine fit?

Very nice car. I have a 73 Manta A & I've just bought a red top. Was there a lot of modification needed to meke the engine fit? On my GT/E I used a Manta 1.8 sump, engine mounts and gearbox. I also removed a bit of the lip on the bulkhead to give more clearance for the coolant pipe. I don't know what needs to be done to an A series, there will be more information on the Manta Club forum.

Sweet... Always liked these. Can't remember when I saw another one? You should definitely finish it as you will have something very rare.

Thanks, this one definitely looks better from a distance. It had some paint bubbles before but over the last couple of weeks they've multiplied. I'll have to start saving for a re-spray.

Not that rare these where I live, as another three have turned up in the last year.

The Manta's now been reviewed by Hub Nut on his You Tube channel. Watched that yesterday, an impressive machine you've built there. I'm jealous.

Nothing to be jealous about, it looks better on TV than close up.
