Quickest and simplest engine swap ever! What a great result.
With the mechanical love you've put into this I reckon you should give the actual rust cutting, welding and bodywork a good shot and then get it professionally painted, it pretty much deserves it and would look awesome.

Realistically I am going to have to postpone this event, probably till next year, due to the whole corna virus thing. So I've decided in the mean time to have some fun with the car. Wise choice Since lockdown has ended it has been carnage up here with wild campers, they are now very much "persona non grata" Rubbish being discarded, human excrement left in laybys and wild spots. Wacky races on the road. Locals being abused for refusing to allow camping on their land. Animals requiring vet treatment due to consuming human waste. Only a matter of time before someone gets a doing from a shovel handed farmer or fisherman. |

Thanks, yeah I do need to make a start on the body work. I'm not sure whether to get it painted or fully wrapped. As I could have something a bit more special done with wrap for cheaper than a full respray. It's something I'll have to chew on. |

Yeah, certainly feel special driving it haha tho I have been recently made aware of one that looks almost identical to this that's being put back on the road. But he's keeping the standard engine (for now) I like your thinking with the box but the coupe is a factory manual already (I dislike autos) |

I was just thinking of letting everything settle down into a state of normality. As I don't really no what rules/laws Scotland has put in place |

I was over in Arisaig with the caravan the other week and it was crazy there too, any area you can park a vehicle on is occupied by campers or motorhomes.
I think its time we looked at outlawing wild camping, even as a temporary measure for next few years until the Benidorm brigade return to normality.

If I were to get it wrapped, it would be a special type thing and to get the same effect from paint would be many thousands of pounds. But I'm many moons from getting to that stage. Next big spend it the exhaust which may or may not be getting done this weekend |

Took my car to work on Friday to weld a exhaust bracket back on that I had to remove because it was in the way originally. However I stumbled across this   So it turns out new down pipe is about 1cm or 2 long that the original. It meets the ground before the lower part of subframe. Instead of welding the bracket on properly. It's become a skid plate of sorts.   However on a better note, got my new cat back system made and fitted. Before   After   It sounds alot better but the bit I'm most happy with is that it fits and looks so much better. Its not in your face loud, but has a nice burble to it. I will in the future (when funds allow) get a down pipe and power flow cat fitted to. |

I've been looking for ages for a set of rims that would suit this car and I stumbled across these.  Sadly they didn't come with tyres but they do have a the centre caps. A quick mock up  With a bit of photo shop  I'd been invited to a local car meet on the weekend. So through out the week I'd be prepping the car. Extending and repairing the led underglow and clean the current wheels Saturday night came along and I must say she looked good.     The more eagles eye readers may notice that it's got different wheels. I stumbled across these Friday evening and had a done a deal to pick them up Saturday morning. I am really happy with how the car now looks. What do you all think? |
