Has it really been eleven Hemi Durango chassis swaps? I do believe that's right although I'd have to go back and look because it's been a whirlwind for the past 3-4 years what with all the Coyote swaps and daily driver repair BS that we all go through...
The short version is that almost every single rusty pile of junk that I managed to save- is still on the road. We've run into a few of them in various parts of the country and it's fun to see "where are they now".
So let me introduce you to Hemi #11- It's a 1951 short wheelbase Dodge pickup truck from Reno Nevada.
Pics coming now...

While the pictures are out of order- You get the idea. The fun of these things is in the DRIVE. A bit of trail braking into the turns and go wide open throttle coming out of a curve.. MAN, it feels like a racing car. So this one has smaller wheels fitted now and the cab isn't set into position but it will be very soon. I'll update the build, it's been super busy around here. Did I mention that I chassis swapped another International Metro Van on to a Chevy TAHOE v8 AWD? I used a Chevy because the wheelbase was identical. The 5.3L GM V8 doesn't make Hemi power, but I'll tell you what- those Tahoe SUV's are built really well and far easier to swap than a Durango. I would do a thread on the Tahoe IH Metro Ice cream van but I just don't have the time right now. There is a full video series on it on the pootube channel if one is so inclined. Anyway- I miss the RR threads and had a look at some fantastic builds here as usual! More as it happens-

Thanks! Yeah- I have no idea what's up with the pootube notifications. I mean- Nearly 10k subscribers and with each new video I am lucky to hit 1k views because people say they never got a notification. I've emailed the almighty googletube and I get nothing in response.
The good part is that people keep finding me and bringing me cool stuff to build. As long as that keeps happening- I will continue to make the videos. I usually do one or 2 every 30 days a because of the time it takes to film, edit and do the actual work.
Thank you all for paying attention- it was the RR support that made me fight to build and fight I have! Super fun and now it's BEER TIME!!

Cool, was the chevy any easier with reference the dash and possibly losing it? I know Dodge is particularly difficult in that respect.

Very cool, love the idea of the vintage bodies on modern underpinnings. Look forward to some updates

Cool, was the chevy any easier with reference the dash and possibly losing it? I know Dodge is particularly difficult in that respect. The Chevy Tahoe is exactly the same as the durango. The Tahoe was introduced many years before the Dodge- After taking both trucks apart it occurred to me that the Dodge is a cheap copy of the Tahoe, but with more power. Best thing about the Dodge is the Hemi power. The Chevy was better built, better designed and it was far easier to dismantle. If I could get a modern Tahoe with 5.7 and 350+ HP in stock form, I would probably buy one. The 5.3 makes about 285 and that's just not enough. The Toyota 3.5 V6 makes more than that. Heck- everyone has a 300hp v6 these days. Another potential benefit of the Chevy Tahoe is the GM support for the LS platform. There's more affordable ways to get full instrumentation and transmission controllers with the GM stuff. I've not done it yet and I can potentially see the day where I do a Tahoe Chassis under a Chevy truck. I like to keep brands together, for the most part. There is always a way to make custom stuff, but as usual- there is a price. The stuff I build is 90% budget constrained.
