Morning all, I've been an avid reader on this forum for a while, but never really owned anything mega old as such. I'm saving for an E28 currently, always wanted one since my Dad owned one 8 years ago. I've only ever really worked on one car, which is my Lupo. Thats off the road in bits atm, but you may have seen it before at a few shows across the UK. For now, i daily drive a 1999 Polo 6N. With the platform coming up for 27 years old, it's really starting to show it age. I guess the whole idea of a daily is literally just that... i can't leave anything alone however, so here's my recent money pit... Day of purchase And 9 whole days later, i no longer have a practical daily. So far, i've only really done simple things to the car. It's on KW coilovers with custom solid springs, BBS RM's, and a few little bits here and there. I'm currently in the process of rebuilding a 1.4 AFH lump to swap into it as it's currently only a 1.4 8v, which i'm hoping to have finished by the end of the month! So i'll have some more detailed posts to follow in the near future I've got a set of 16v bumpers to go on, as well as a set of super rare NK side skirts, Japanese tailgate, 16v seats and trims, and various other small additions. And to think this was just meant to be an A-B.... Sorry Dad

It looks like your dad has passed on the Car-owners virus to you and you will suffer from higher levels of build quality on any car you buy and modify.

Yeah it's a bit of a state currently as it hasn't turned a wheel for over 6 months, it might be back one day though. Cheers mate, honestly considering it's the cheapest car i've owned it's by far my favourite!

Yep that's me - hoping to make a dubclub this year - my truck wasn't ready in time before they closed for winter last year. I've not been to one since it used to be at the tyre place.

The new venue's quite cool tbh, it's in the uni village in central Cov, good mix of people and food, has an epic brewery too

The remaining work now is mainly mechanical, i bought a 16v 6N last year as a donor car to take all the good bits from. (Purists don't hate me here, the shell was far beyond saving and the car had been abused beyond belief) Having done almost the exact same engine conversion on my Lupo (Lupo uses a later varient of the AFH called AUB, fly by wire throttle instead of cable, more complex than an AFH but not as good an engine) which was converting from a 1.0 8v to 1.4 16v, i already knew what i needed. I stripped the car over two nights, with the hardest part being taking the engine loom out! All you need is the running gear, the loom (Although you don't need to swap the loom on a 6N) the immobiliser, key chip and ECU, and then it's plug and play! I sent the bumpers off for paint last week, as well as my NK skirts and two front wings as i've torn one! Visited an old friend to borrow some parts from too ... The skirts in question clip over the original sills as you can just about make out in this pic. Great little addition to go along with the 16v kit! As well as this, i've got a full set of Green Hella magic lights to go on, something i've wanted for a while but never come up as a complete set! Smell the 90's.

I love what you've done with these cars apart from the negative camber on the back, its a bit too much IMO but its not my car!
Not seen those green lights before, can't wait to see what they look like.

I've just bought a lupo 1.7 sdi as a daily. Are any polo parts direct fit onto the lupo, coils, seats, brakes?

Even i don’t like extreme camber, i’ve been thinking of dropping my dish size half an inch so i can reduce the camber a little! Yeah Hella magics were sold factory on polo harlequins, then released at a later date in a variety of other colours! I’ll end up with a few colours i reckon lol

I've just bought a lupo 1.7 sdi as a daily. Are any polo parts direct fit onto the lupo, coils, seats, brakes? Unfortunately, not a lot is interchangeable! Lupo’s all use later components on the brakes, and as the 1.7’s on drum rears you won’t gain anything from a 6N! Better off just putting GTI/Sport front brakes on it mate! Front coilovers fit from a 6N, but not the rears. Seats don’t fit as the floor pan is unique to a lupo, as is the interior! So unfortunately, bit of a dead end swapping bits!

Well, my valentines went something like this: Took my friend up to Birmingham to pick up his new daily, probably the cleanest EF civic i've even seen, the car is absolutely faultless. Almost a shame to modify it, thankfully it's being done properly. Another coil pack in the bin! Luckily i broke down mega late at night and half a mile from home, so i just managed to limp it back! After running about all morning trying to source a 6N coil pack (Absolutely nowhere locally had one) i made it down to London to see some mates for my Birthday, got a few nice shots around Sloane street and the surrounding areas! Spotted a GENUINE 6N 16v in Storm Grey, immaculate on 50k, had a meltdown. Finished the evening with some nice rollers down Sloane square

Engine is now in the final stages of build, with the cams going back in tonight. After that it's really just a case of fitting the service parts too it and timing it up! UntitledGot hold of a nice GTI inlet manifold to go on too which will make the noise a little more interesting! I need to mock up an exhaust now so i can weld my exhaust manifold onto it... Loosing the CAT and centre box so i've basically just got to remake the system
