Another day, another daily (6N)

Love it!

My mrs has a 9n3 Gti, stg 2 revo, I/C, Forge DV, Miltek decat etc and it's a great going thing. I had it down about 60mm on coilovers and it seemed to hit everything on the road, if I tried to park on a kerb it got beached and I had to get out and rock the car to try and get it dislodged.

Do the 6n's suffer the same low points on the floorpan? I'd love another one and have it sitting as low as yours.

Yeah i've heard of 9N3 GTI's being a bit of a mare when lowering! Mine is a bit of a nightmare tbh, it's not engine raised yet so the sumps had a couple knocks, the subframe it's the worst fouling point however, followed by the chassis rails. It's not to bad to live with, but becomes hard if trying to park on a curb and driving anywhere that has speed bumps! Fantastic cheap base to mess with though if you want a silly low car!

Whats new? well, with all the recent unfortunate events, i've been lucky that i've been able to work on my car. I was a key worker (furloughed this week), so i've been able to work on my car while at work. Was a weird experience to be fair, the workshop has been silent with only me really being around, i don't like not seeing people, so it's been kinda hard. I've made a lot of progress however.

This is where the issues start. Almost as soon as i pulled the car out to test drive, it was dumping oil. Almost like a fast dripping tap, Awesome. Sump off, resealed issue remains.

Gearbox off, agh, my lovely brand new main crank seal is leaking. Lovely.

With that fixed, i now have an issue with the cars idle. It will occasionally rev up on its own, and sometimes just cuts out for no reason. It will also flat spot and bog down when i'm accelerating (Foot down but nothing happens, although engine sounds like it's under strain so trying to accelerate??) And when i'm driving, my temp will drop from 90, to 70?

Other than that, it feels great to drive. Just really dragging on me that it's not 100%, wish i'd driven the donor car first to try and work out these issues....

Nah nothing complicated on these, literally just a seal thats part of the casting that slides over the crank, lesson learned here was always buy dealer! Went with a good OEM replacement, but the dimensions of where the seal sat in the replacements housing was wrong, sat to proud on the shaft and could move about. An annoying issue that unfortunately takes a good 5 hours to sort

The issues you're having sound like a inlet air leak.

That was another issue i forgot to mention, although i swapped my inlet manifold over to another and it solved the leak i had found. Pulling my hair out now

Issue found, throttle body was tanked!!! Got another on the way!
