So that was Saturdays progress. After some time with the cattle and kids on Sunday by lunchtime it was on with the coveralls. View from the inside

I've had my own thoughts about it. I have an old barn and I thought that it would be possible to redo it so that I can do office work in it, since I have absolutely no room for this in my house. In the shed there is just a room in which, in theory, it would be possible to make an office, but after I calculated how much it would cost, I immediately changed my mind. I asked my brother to help with this and he confirmed that it would cost a lot. He suggested that I try to rent an office in osdoro.com.sg since it came out much cheaper than having to convert an entire old barn.

It's all about your budget Budget is as low as I can possibly do it, whilst having something that looks respectable in the end. Hence why all the work is done in house wherever possible. I make no apologies for that

You're doing a great job. I do as much as I can to save on costs, it takes more time but it at least makes it possible for me.

I’m not a fan of paying someone cash to do something I could do myself. And if I don’t know how, I like to learn.

Yes I concur. Thanks for all true replies and advice along true way. My body took a kicking over the weekend with the roofing so having some time away from it to recover. It’s amazing how sore you get after using different muscle groups from normal.

Yes, I’ve spent the last three days clearing an area in the garden of shrubs, bushes and a small tree, because her ladyship wants a summerhouse. I hurt like nobody’s business. With luck it’ll be raining tomorrow and I can have the day off.

My worst worry about dying is my wife selling my stuff for what I told her it cost...

I’m about ok today just shoulders and neck aching now. Knees still a little tender too. It’s a cracking day today though again, so may have to just man up after work and cut up the last sheets to fit

Could really do with having the roof all buttoned up before the wind decides to make a visit again.

She did start the whole summerhouse topic off with a statement along the lines of “we need to get some of these things done while we’re both still fit and able”, and wasn’t too impressed when I said that I’d like to get the lorry done too while I could still lift a spanner...🙄

My kids have a bit of a gnarl at me every do often for choking down my dinner then running off outside to work on the shed.

Indeed. Although kids, quite rightly, don’t really have much idea how hard some of us work to give them what they have. It’s a fine line though, I would have preferred a few more years with my dad, with a bit less around us, than have him work himself to death like he did. I try hard to get a better balance than he did.

You can guarantee it. Not done much this week, not the safest working on a roof at night. Hopefully will have it all buttoned up over the weekend Been very lucky with the weather since I started roofing

Not a great deal of progress over the weekend really, the time available was mainly spent getting the 4 cut sheets installed and then covering the entire roof getting all the tek screws in. There are still a few to go, mainly stitching screws. Also fitted most of the ridge flashings and foam fillers, can see from the last shot how the foam fillers have sealed up the light. The weather is set to be 40mph ish winds from teatime right up to the weekend, so wanted to make sure everything was solid, which I think it is. Fingers crossed it all stays good in the storm. Can see the galv finish beginning to dull on the shiny sheets already, quite happy that it will all match up ok in time.
