Great progress dude! Still blown away by the colour on yours. Stunning choice Interesting that your rear is very high. Was thinking the same on mine as even with me and a mate standing in the boot it wasn't settling down to a reasonable ride height and that's much more weight than you'd expect at the rear. It does have a GT6 spring in the back though which might be a bit too stiff...

I've been reading through your thread and it looks like you have a lot of projects on the go! Any idea when the Spitfire will be done? (open ended question I know!) Looking forward to seeing it on the on the road!

Haha my family ask that question a lot!
It's closer than it looks, but there's still a fair way to go. All the major components are in, but there's a lot of work in hooking them all up with ancilliary stuff (wiring, fuel lines, brake lines, exhaust, coolant system etc.). It's currently vying for attention with the Alfa as the next thing on the list once the Jag's done...
I want it on the road too! Been a long time coming.

She is finally on the road! Not quite 100% finished, but good enough to get out and feel the wind in my hair! I got a 4 wheel alignment done and as expected the geometry was all over the place after the rebuild. I thought this would cure the vague steering but it was still there, and after some investigation I realised that I had not properly tightened the clamp that connects the upper and lower steering column...oops. Here she is after the first venture out of town. After a good test run without any hiccups, it was time to start piecing together the new interior. I spent ages trying to find the right colour but I am very happy with this combination. The hood cover really sets it off as well. I fitted up the original hood that came with the car just in case I get caught out anywhere, but I have a new one on order. It looks like the old one used to be beige but someone has painted it black! So there are still a few things to finish off, but it feels good to finally be able to drive it. Fortunately we got snapped by a local motorbike photographer on our first proper outing, which I had to purchase as a memento of the occasion!
