Nice to see Molly settling in so well. I awoke the other morning around 3.30 and, as I went to get out of bed, could make out an unusual dark shape in the floor. Speculating, I turned on the light to be greeted by a very large and very dead rat. Obviously it'd found its way into the house and was looking forward to a little nose around but instead, came face-to-face with the Brothers Dimm. That's two rats, multiple cockroaches and several mice between them now. Little Lolita's going to have some catching up to do!

At least count yourself lucky you don't have a Daisy. She brings mice in still alive, drops them on the floor and then watches as we scrabble around trying to catch the little things before they go under the bed. Sherman catches stuff outside and generally leaves the remains dead by the back door, having munched on the crunchy bit (head). Money penny is far more civilised. The only thing we've ever seen her bring back is the carcass of a bird that had probably been dead a week. That was 10 years ago! Funny that..... How cats in the same home, even from the same litter, can differ so much. Our three that moved here in 2010 were soo different. Tabitha, oldest one, mouser and killer, ate all her kills, usually. Dukey, only one year in his almost 17 years when he went on a killing spree, the rest of the time, nope. Harley, intermittent, occasional killer, but preferred catch and release (indoors)

Taking her to the vets tomorrow at 8.45 for the “full valet” physical, and a scan to see if she is chipped. If she is chipped, I stand a good chance of losing her, which would suck liking her so much already, and having spent what needs to be spent on her. Once the doors open for her, I hope she stays, and survives, I suspect she will be a keen killer and mouser.

Lovely boy. And to be honest, why hunt when it gets served daily. I found a ginger female with half a tail inside a Sandmaster off-road race car dash years ago. She was awesome. I believe someone took her from outside the house while she was a juvenile, which was fine, as long as she got a good home.

Soooooooo Long story short-ish. Cat has gone back to the yard. Took her to the vet this morning for a full physical and to check for a micro chip, to fit one if not present. Found to be healthy and compliant. BUT BEEEEEP ! Microchip fitted. Registered owner contacted. Here it gets interesting, they wanted it returned, as it is a “Yard Cat” WT actual F? I suspect it was a house cat someone got tired of, and to quiet their conscience it was sent to a trucking yard near to Darrens yard. The cat then found her way to a nicer place ie. Darrens yard where she was fed and fussed about etc. So have taken her back, before mate Darren gets his head kicked in. Story over. Last pics Loves a rug roll . Headed back. And yes, I am gutted, sorry for the cat. But that’s life. Next!

That's not good.
We had a cat that the neighbours kept feeding and letting into their house in the end we said either leave it alone or take it on. We transferred the chip registration over and it lives quite happily 2 doors down, occasionally comes to visit.
The arrival of a Border Terrier might have hastened it's choice of residence... this is also the cat that got knocked by a car before we had insured it and cost us a fairly large vets bill.

Indeed. Sorry to hear that, people are weird. It obviously didnt want to live in the yard Yup, some a weird, some are cnuts. Cats will find a place that suits them, where they are comfortable, cared about and secure. Yes Dan, certainly sums these people up imho I think here are a load of us mate. This is not a cat forum, but when cats and dogs, like fr€$h&m1nt¥ ‘s pup insist on being in the frame, helping or just making us smile, it improves it for all of us. I have no problem with animals making up their own minds, bit sh!t if they are outright bribed though. Unfortunately, dogs often put a cats nose out of joint. Still, life goes on. Karma will settle the books in the end. Ah that’s a shame mate. Another one will pop up when the time is right. Thanks mate. I am happy for them to move here of their own volition. The vet who saw Molly/Burger/Jasmine this morning, did call the owners a second time to try understand why they were behaving the way they were. Also, forgot to mention that the vet deleted the cost of the full physical and consultation he had given her this morning against the entry of “Stray” Really decent of him, and also kind. I had asked for the £40.00 full fat option and was happy to pay him for his service. Once again, just shows that what goes around, comes around.

Worth speaking too the owners... No it’s not. They are clearly prize sized cnuts. The vet tried twice, Darren tried twice today. I would much rather wish them ill health and misfortune Similar to what they are putting the cat through.

Ah Grizz, that properly sucks. So sorry. Certainly does mate. I do not enter into this sort of thing, like offering my friendship, lightly. And anyone who says “but you only got her 5 days ago, needs to see how it feels to a human to lose a newborn. You bond, you care, you feel. Tonight is cold and wet outside. I suspect she will feel it. The Viva will be fine for now, but not ideal.

Very sorry to hear this grizz I am sure that if she could talk, Molly would have given you a 5* Trip Advisor rating, and would have happily stayed with you. Plus kept your mouse population down. You're right - a proper load of bar stewards.

I know it's not a cat forum. But your project threads with all the humanity evolved, makes for a good worthwhile read. Visit the cat, when in gets abit colder, at the end of the day, cat will decide.
