Yup, my wife has one and I change the oil and filter every 4 or 5 months Car was diligently serviced. It seems from what Rich is saying that the problem lies with the oil pickup. So one assumes it is a design problem, looking at the wisdom out there on the web. Regardless, car is dead and she needs transport. Painful. It's a common problem with that engine, if it was diligently serviced by a main dealer or possibly other garage it would only be changed once a year or ten thousand miles or even longer, third party garages may not even use the correct oil which is why I change the oil twice as often as recommended , no reason for an oil pickup to block with clean oil |

It’s an engine that in its design, like the PSA 1.6/1.4HDi sludges it’s oil even when ran to its ‘service schedule’ set out by manufacturer. No one to blame in this instance other than Vauxhall. If repaired and regularly serviced the issue is negated somewhat. |

Keep strong Grizz, isolation is a killer. Like you I'm walking the dog to break from death by email. Got the dog and cat for company.
Similarly, beard is growing. Although I gave in and adopted a 5mm all over buzz-cut ony head, as long hair boils my urine.
W/R the Corsa. For me, would depend on the rest of the car. £2k is not small change, so I'd be loathed to spend that on it. Especially of it's a known design flaw. But, if her car is mint/owned ages/sentimental value then why not.
All depends on;
* The car
* The owner
* Circumstance
I've put way more into my 9-3 than it'll be worth, ever. Equally I've a mate who bounces around low paid jobs, and has run snotters for years. He's had:
* 250,000+ mile Leon PD
* 180,000mile MG ZR cdti
* £150 2001 primera that he got 5 years out of only fitting a scrap yard battery and 1 part worn tyre. Didn't even open the bonnet in a year or so
* Now on with a 2001 E46 318i. Paid £400 ish..passed test with minimal love. It's tidy tbh but in grandad spec that no one wanted
Each to their own.

I suggested a banger to her as well. But partly being herself and partly proud or is that stupid etc..... She decided to go with repairing her existing car as she knows it so well, and loves it. |

Some random COVID 19 stuff done this week, outside of work. Cut the lawn, and noticed just how bad my driveway looks....  Big difference.  Amazed how mossy the house walls were too. Overdue for paint, since I did it in 2012 whenmI was unemployed.  Quick break for a coffee inbetween, dirty feet, thanks to back spray.  Cutting the edges in. Every paver has to be individually done. Kills time, kills your back, shoulders and even your hands on the trigger.  Job done from side gate to street, took two days, paving still drying out.  Sunset......  |

Right... Happy times in the Randomness posted thread. COVID 19 meals..... Went shopping for mainly fruit and vegetables yesterday. My shopping preference lies with the Turkish fruit and vegetable and general dealer as their prices and quality beats and rivals mainstream shops. Had told Sally she could have a small BBQ as a reward for still working despite lockdown. She actually has a 4 day weekend as their hours and demand has reduced somewhat recently. So while in the Turkish shop, I got these with a plan in mind.  And some of these.  Nice size.  Making the Kebabs, they were covered in canon and Sweet Thai chilli sauce. Red onion. Tomatoes, apricots, mushrooms, prawns  Also made a flat chicken  Fire to start with.   Chicken flipping.  Served up. Also lamb Konte patties.  |

Your fire pit/oven looks great. Always wanted one, when this place sells and I finally settle I *will* build one.
Jetwashing the drive is on my list. A succession of filthy work cars, has lathered my brick paving. And with the house for sale,needs doing. One boring day when I don't have jnr, I'll get me waders on, music, JPS, coffee and commence.
Water meter will take a beating.....

Well done on the pressure washing, my brother-in-law did our drive a while ago, and used the washer to draw a set of enormous wedding vegetables. Aaahhh...someone else that does it. Did our drive once and left a large " member" pointing towards an awkward neighbour for a week or two!! Grizz..i used to p/w in flipflops...till the day i clipped my toes with the jet...my machine is a very heavy duty job and it stung like hell. I now only ever wear safety crocks!!! :-) |

Just done the drive also, well the rear block pave patio so far.
Got one of the rotary head brush things for mine added brick acid in the head and it's an absolute beast for doing it.

 You need to watch your toes with this one rian...no flash cup holders or bluetooth speaker systems built in...just a 3hp motor with a proper brass pump on it. Will easily cut through tarmac with a turbo lance attached. |

don't use a cable tie on the trigger...use a velcro strip...easy on/off when you need to!
