Stay safe Grizz. My world (although not NHS) isn't hugely different from yours; 8am to midnight 5days a week playing VT and email tennis. Odd site visit thrown in, solo, in a quarry or such. Pootle down empty roads. Have jnr a couple or three nights a week, breaks it up. Rest of the time I'm pottering alone with ex-wifes cat, and my dog. If you're struggling solo hit us up. Always happy to chat, especially as your interests are so random and interesting 😎 I've many projects and stuff to do, but WFH seems to slow work down, so a 10hr day takes forever. Thanks mate. Yup, I don’t think I am made for this stay home lark. Thanks, will shout if I get into a corner. |

Part 2 Cutting the block to get the wheels standing out.  Bit chilly on the drive early morning  Filleted.    Carefully trimming away bit by bit.   Plan was to make the race number a 19 but the 9 is hard to do with the material so 7 it is.  Lots of time spent fine tuning and getting it just right today. Done   Quite happy with how it all come out. . |

Pub of an evening. Suddenly, caged.... Indeed. Managed a 3.7 km walk over the farm with Tom, my new lodger of 6 weeks, he was going stir crazy, stuck indoors. Using Map my Walk, makes it easy to track your own moves. The challenge is to create pictures..... I made a noose yesterday.... COVID 19 tightening around our necks. Bugggerr, I am so unfit. Lovely day out on the farm. COVID- 19 beard growing.    From Dennis in St Louis, a new family member. Meet Archer.   Not too big.  And with Dennis......  Stay safe out there people. Stay at home. Sally is still working despite COVID 19
Yesterday on the way home her cars engine blew up, 2013 Corsa 1400cc with about 87k miles.
Passed MOT two weeks ago.
She got offered a 43k mile engine exchange for £2000.00 including labour by her mechanic.
And no, I cannot do the job. No idea what went wrong.
Sounds a lot of money, when there are reliable cars out there for a lot less.....
I am just looking in case there is something sensible out there for her.
What you got?
Preferably not automatic.

Deceased estate, stop driving or similar car. They do happen...... There is what looks to be a nice 30 year old low mileage Renault Laguna sport 1.6 in the FOR SALE section for £600.00 in Sheffield. But of course one does not know if it will work as a daily for her, and if it is a ticking time bomb, despite looking so good. Damn that’s bad news Rian If. SOLOBeen staying in touch with our man Andy in Tulsa, Oklahoma He is looking after his health, staying alone, avoiding potential infections. At over 70 years of age, his risk is increased. Today he was making hay. Maybe too soon though.   Dodge was not able. Dodge and FJ together failed.  Up to the plate stepped a 72 year old....... Ready to save the day. Pushing and pulling  Hero of the day.  It was a good day for Andy.

Could sort the corsa later on when stuff gets better 🤔 For someone like Sally who is proud, works for close to minimum wage, even changing insurance and that “admin fee” constituting financial date rape to her, a car like the Merc is outside of her range. With me being stuck, working at home, fortunately she is insured and licensed to use my company Focus, while I will use the Galaxy in the mean time if I need to drive anywhere. So while the Corona lockdown is in place, she has a car to use, while we see if anything shapes. But it looks like she will have to bite the bullet and have a used engine fitted to her car. |

Bad timing, we just sold wife's Pug 107 (high miles but perfectly maintained) for peanuts, might have been ideal.
Keep eyes out, something will come up.
Still looking forward to pics of the Galaxy with those springs on!

It seems from what Rich is saying that the problem lies with the oil pickup. So one assumes it is a design problem, looking at the wisdom out there on the web. Regardless, car is dead and she needs transport. Painful. |
