For me, right now, even driving 14 miles to town and back ends up in some serious pain. Mate Kevin drove over to see me today from Maidstone and picked up some anthracite paint at Halfords. I had decided after painting the centre caps silver, that it was not the right colour and needed changing, regardless of outcome. So a reasonable match it seemed. First of two coats. Difference apparent First coat on. Second to follow. Then Sally popped in, on her way home and I managed to seduce her....... Withone of these, before she headed off to do a load of chores Bacon (loads of it) and egg toasty sandwich. . Then she went off and I added coat one of clear to the anthracite, which perfectly made it a touch darker. And much later, a second coat of clear Have to say, I am really pleased with the outcome. Fitting when I get a chance. . Thats a tasty looking sandwich! Trust me, it was. I also resisted my usual urge to add some red sauce. I think it could have been even better for me. "Necessity is the mother of invention" ... nought wrong with that, it'll do nicely until you pickup correct part on your next road trip across 'the pond' Centre caps look really good, well done ... ... and the sandwich ... Indeed...... the fix is fine till I get a real part. Centre caps got another coat of clear this morning...... of course I could not resist. Along with the shiny wheels, three coats of clear should make them blend well. The sandwich...... one problem, Sally cuts straight through, I would have done the diagonal display cut, just tastes better that way.

"The sandwich...... one problem, Sally cuts straight through, I would have done the diagonal display cut, just tastes better that way." Opposite in our household (if I even bother to cut them, usually I just tear through, eating a sandwich is about the manliest thing I do!) Grizz, what's with the gravelly bread? Give me Warburtons medium white, no seeds, no gravel!

"The sandwich...... one problem, Sally cuts straight through, I would have done the diagonal display cut, just tastes better that way." Well, laugh all you wnt.... you know I am right. Until you try it, you wont know. I cannot even eat so called brow bread these days, and white..... it is to over refined, it is pretty much poison to your gastric system. Your body naturally needs a diet filled with roughage, keep in mind just how much refined and processed foods you eat daily. Eating a bit of roughage once a month does not count, it has to become a way of life. All those McDonalds burgers, etc etc taste so good, but bring very little in needed nutrients to your body. This is by far not a scientific approach from me, and neither a stirring for a bun fight (see what I did there)but we fall into the trap of crisps, soft white baps and cheap pork sausages too easily. It goes into our mouth, into our gut, belly, poop it out tomorrow.... with half the calories being flushed away, and half sticking in our arteries, on your hips, gut, butt etc. I am morbidly obese right now, and have very few excuses, but also know we need to try harder. PS: once you start to taste, enjoy and actually think of what you eat,it kinda becomes fun. [] I suspect YOU WIN is the right response here...... Obviously we don’t get it here, but it looks awesomely interesting and multi-fasceted. Yup, serve me that please.

Remember this little guy? Seemed highly unlikely that I would find one randomly, but then randomness is often what drives the fun factor in our hobby. Just think of the set of ZQ8 wheels that landed in my lap, sold to me by a guy who had no need for them, and did not realise how desperate I was to find a set to put the truck back to standard. Crazy stuff I know. It happens. Yesterday morning when I woke, a Messenger message from a good friend, Ric, in Chandler, Arizona. Asking whether I had found the rear tailgate pin yet to replace the stud and Nyloc nut currently fitted. Of course I had not....... So he offered to post one out to me, taken from his previous race truck, he is a keen Auto Cross driver and has a few other interesting cars stashed away, awaiting his attention. As he says, at his age, this is an affordable, reasonably safe, and skill improving sport to participate in. He does compete against all sorts of really powerful and capable kit, being that his truck is s along wheelbase, slow, slightly modified vehicle and his daily. He still works as an auto mechanic. So the previous truck had two non fault accidents, the second one being part of a 34 car pile up where he was car no 7 in the action. Leaving Truck No 1 looking sorry for itself. In the pile up the rear end got bent too, so he bought an identical truck to build the race parts over onto. So my day yesterday, other than my niggly back, actually ended really well, and another nice sunset. So much to be said for living rurally. Centre caps to finally be fitted later today, once they have been in the sun to harden the many coats of clear I added. Looking forward to this.

With you on the bread front.
Here they tend to replace salt with sugar in the dough mix, so not only are the loaves dull and soggy, but sweet as sin as well.
Fortunately, if you know where to look, there're some European style bakers producing some cracking whole wheat breads. I now have a regular supplier.

In Spain, I bought bread that looked like a baguette, but after eating we discovered was "san sal" ìirc? Which means "no salt"! It was literally like having your taste buds turned off! It felt like bread in your mouth, but no taste whatsoever!

We made bread in home economics at school, it was perfect - but teacher for reasons best know to her wouldnt let us put salt in - I'm still bitter about that 24 years on lol. Yes it's a waste of time with no salt, might as well eat an ice cube

There's a common misconception that any salt is bad for you. Use it sparingly but appropriately and there'll generally be no issues. It's very important to decent cooking. As the late Gary Rhodes used to say "Don't forget your seasonings they're SO important!". He's right - they can make or break a dish. There are of course the two extremes - my Mother In Law never puts salt in ANYTHING which irritates me no end - and my Dad, who thinks everything needs additional salt. I've seen him add salt to bacon before. How he's made it to 82 is beyond me...

Carrying on. Three coats of clear. Colour really is alive in this choice of Anthracite. Tried the wheel nut covers. And amazing how different it looks indoors, on a white dogs duvet cover. On my way back from the osteopath I did a 200 meter detour to check up onthese trees. Back to getting home, I needed to keep. Moving in order not to seize up. What better way, than to fit these long overdue and now correctly painted centre caps. I was walking around the truck after fitting them..... swearing, just repeatedly saying “Dang.... this looks good, this is so right” And a side shot. To say I am cuffed is an understatement. I am so chuffed. It was the right choice to go with the new wheels.

Cheers mate Thanks mate. Stripes are all stickers only, no clear cover. The tailgate ones are damaged through overtight application, so need replacing at some point. I need to find an affordable, correct colour replacement. 6 meters at 150mm in the same anthracite colour.
