Grumpy, are those multiple "repairs" gas welded?...and when do you suppose over the years, they were done? what other type of repairs were possible/available at the time?
So nice to see this back with you for some more exciting rebuilding posts! (exciting to us, anyway!)

JP JP - Yes that's certainly gas welded repairs - they have just been done to prop the A Post up - the bottom door hinge bolts to the base of the A post and this just rots out leaving nothing for the door hinge to fasten to - which could have also been classed as a MOT failure point - other than cutting the effected areas out and making a proper job of it not much else was available in repair terms unless of course you bring into the equation the use of newspaper / wire mesh / fiberglass & filler !

Happening in the background Rebuilt gearbox - still requires some modification to the output / tailshaft has a overdrive conversion is being fitted but I need my very clever machining engineer to join a few dots up first The gearbox tunnel cover on this particular car is missing hence whilst I have a pattern available on another restoration vehicle its time to take advantage of it That can now be stored with rest of the parts that I have set aside in advance of the bulkhead rebuild

Obviously i travelled in slightly lower circles!!! Strikey, actually you're the one who's right .... I took the liberty of putting it into the affirmative in order to match GN's actions. Hope that makes sense. I originally heard it as Poor Preparation Prevents Peak Performance John
