I'm pretty sure i would've noticed that ๐
It's rather annoying that i don't know what happened. It's a piece of highway that i've driven thousands of times, and also quite often at high speeds. Police did a small investigation but found no eyewitnesses of the crash and no evidence of technical malfunction of anything. My mates that collected the wreckage could also not point at a certain part to have caused the crash. It was a late Saturday night, a bit damp and most likely not much traffic so I'm really puzzled.. It sure would be nice to have the answer as to what caused this... At least my recovery seams to be heading in the right direction. Stood outside the bed and sat in the special chair for a good hour today. According to the nurse that was very good considering the trauma and that i've been lying flat for a week. Starting to look better.. (pardon the finger๐ซฃ)

Glad to hear you are recovering ok. Gutted for you about the car, was a fab build but would rather owner survived than the car as that would be selfish. Hopefully youโll be back on your feet proper soon.

Wow, looking at the car you are a very lucky boy. Hope you make a full and fast recovery. The car can be replaced by something in the future. Take care, Norman

Due to some changed circumstances I'm going to be doing a (hopefully) quick project starting next month or so. I'm converting a Giulietta 116 model to 2.4 20v jtd. The car in question is a repainted shell so in very nice condition. As this car has way better suspension and a bit more room then my Giulia I see no real problems for the conversion. This car will get it's own topic here when I start on it. For now some pictures of the car This will be the next project. I've another 2.4 20v jtd that i'll use in this car. This can be a relatively easy project but I first need to get mobile again. I hope that in December i can really start with the bigger modifications liking putting engine and gearbox in and making a transtunnel. Until then i'll probably try to do little things like fixing a wiring harness. That way i hope to finish it quickly so i have something nice to drive again. But first healing....๐

It's already at our place. Just talked to my mate. He will strip and crush the Giulia for me. He knows which parts are handy for me. That takes away a bit of stress for me as well. One door closes where another one opens..

looks a nice starting point, I find it does pay to take some time to plan a job like this and mull over the options, something to do while you recover.
looking at the pics of the guilia the engine compartment doesen't look too damaged, you might get some usefull parts out of there.

I always enjoy seeing the updates in this thread but am very sorry to see this one! Wishing you a speedy recovery.
The new 116 project is one I'll be watching with great interest once you get to it, we've got an '85 Giulietta here which has sentimental value but needs some fresh inspiration, so this will be just the thing.

Planning phase started in my head as soon as i was offered the car๐ Gearbox from the giulia is broken off the engine but my mate will pull engine and box for small parts.

One door closes where another one opens.. Nice... Does that have the DeDion rear with 4 bolt wheels? If so, and if you are not going to use it, I could use some parts off it. ( if you'd be willing to sell, and willing to ship...)

Thanks. It was not really the kind of update I like to place. 116 Giulietta's are getting quite rare as they were not the best cars ever build and not very loved due to their quirky looks. I actually like them and they drive very nice. At the moment I have 3 of them, 1 nice,1 ugly and 1 for parts. I'll either continue in this topic under a new title or create a new topic for the Giulietta as soon as I have updates. This is the ugly one. Ugly but really hard underneath.

I need a set of 4 lug hubs.
But I'm not in a crazy rush ( its for a upcoming project), so if you need them yourself but can keep an eye out for me, that would be great too.

If I don't use mine you can have them for the cost of shipping ๐
I just need some months...

Wow, that is awesome. Thank you very much. No rush, I'm not in a panic for them. Take your time, and make sure you don't need them yourself.

I've always liked these Giuliettas, but I can see why they didn't sell all that well. They're missing a bit of the pizzaz of an E30, say. Odd that the 75 outsold them though as that's a bit of a stylistic mess (though had the benefit of the V6 I suppose).
Either way looking forward to seeing this one come together!
Oh, and do be careful diving in with the heavy lifting and things. The road to recovery from serious injuries is a slow one, and overdoing it at an early stage can add many weeks/months onto it. Not intending to dampen your spirits, but more steel you for the road ahead. I suppose you could do worse than make a looong list of light duties that need doing if the heavy stuff takes a little longer to sort out.

Yeah, I'll have to resort to lighter jobs like cleaning parts first.
For the bigger things I'll have to ask my mate to help, bigger problem for me then for him.
The 116 Giulietta is a late seventies car with modern styling for that time. The boot is awkward to access and has very limited space with a fuel tank and sparetire in it. Cabin space is decent enough. Dashboard is of an interesting design as well, you either like it or hate it.
The silver car is a mismatch between different series. They took the parts that they think looked best. I like it, only downside is the glass window in the roof.
Car will stay pretty much in this form, lowering and bigger wheels will be the biggest difference.

I have to admit, when they first came out I had to get used to their styling.
But I really like them now.
Very cool that your mate is stepping up to help you out.

My mate has been my best mate for 20+ years. It's a no brainer to help eachother. This is heavy on him as well. He actually stood in the traffic jam from my accident and a sick gut feeling told him to call me as I had just left something like 20 mins before him. He got a paramedic on the phone instead. So he drove past the traffic jam and spoke to the paramedics and police. After that he went to my house to get my girlfriend and go to the hospital. I like to believe that if you help people, good will come your way. Like a positive karma. Wie goed doet, goed ontmoet.
