Feels wrong to 'like' that so commenting instead. At least the damage is light I suppose!

It is what it is. It will probably mean I'll get some euro's for the damage.
Tha car was never very straight or perfect but i didn't want this.

Parked the car at the body shop this morning. The expert would go there today to assess the damage.
Got a call from the shop at the end of the afternoon that they had not seen anyone..😡 phoning the insurance company to complain about it was equally frustrating. After waiting 20min to get connected to a real person instead of a computer only to be told that they can only take a note and request the expert to call me was not very satisfying.😐
Guess i'll have to wait for a phonecall now.

That sucks. Terrible service. I would suggest keeping a track of the time for dropping off, picking up etc, and when they no-doubt try and low-ball you go back with a full itemised bill for your time. I hate insurance companies, but they seem to be much better over here in NZ, maybe because insurance is not compulsory they actually have to provide a service worth paying for!

In the end it worked out not to bad.
The insurance expert called me at the end of the next day. He had received pictures and asked me about the car. As the pictures only showed the damage and the not very nice bodywork of the car he needed to assess the worth of the car.
As i described the work that had gone into the engineswap and making a drivetrain he was convinced the car was worth enough to warrant the repair.
He proceeded by asking me how much the damaged items would roughly cost and then came up with an amount of almost €1500. I agreed to it and surprisingly enough it's already in my account.
My own insurance paid it to me and will claim it on the other insurance. This is apparently a new way to solve these minor claims and help their customers faster. It works for me i guess.😊
Last weekend in spend an hour or so with a jack and a few pieces of wood and got the rear for 90% straight again. Just need to fix the exhaust now.
The money flows into other projects 😅

Yesterday i had a look at an Alfa 164 from a friend. Has been standing for 15 years but looks fairly good (little rust/rot). Would make a nice project, rwd conversion and Audi v8 are hunting my mind😂

“2.5tdi. worked out perfect. Separate cooling system with heatexchanger, chargecooler and bigger vnt turbo makes it a nice package. Probably makes about 150-170 bhp with alot of torque.”
That’s interesting…. I have the AEL 2.5TDI in my A6 and it needs. Which turbo did you use and how much hassle to make it work?
Nice work on the gearbox adapter plate. Good to see the insurance came good in the end also!

Engine is a Volvo version with a modified loom from a VW golf and a T4 ecu, some version with a N75 valve to control the vnt. Another friend modified some of the mapping on it.

Tonight I made the last little patch to close the gap. Next I'll have to start scraping underseal and fix a few minor patches. After that I can put the entire middle piece of the floorpan in primer. Then I can start looking at putting the body on top. The finished patch.

Due to some changed circumstances I'm going to be doing a (hopefully) quick project starting next month or so. I'm converting a Giulietta 116 model to 2.4 20v jtd. The car in question is a repainted shell so in very nice condition. As this car has way better suspension and a bit more room then my Giulia I see no real problems for the conversion. This car will get it's own topic here when I start on it. For now some pictures of the car
