Isnt the human race lovely... got a message of her this morning. Someone has clipped the new car outside nursery, broke the bumper bracket scuffed the wing. And drove off... and this is why il never buy a brand new one. Cus this is irritating. If I'd spent 30k on a new one, I'd be livid!! Mood took a nose dive il be honest.. I've managed a temporary "fix" on it when I've got home. But the whole bumper wants coming off to do it properly... Anyways speaking of bad moods, onto the lexus. Starting with that hose clip 🤣 Got that swapped and gave everything a once over. All happy broke out my newly purchased special bleeding funnel. I've never seen one before, was only 14 quid off eBay. Comes with a load of adaptors to seal the rad cap top while keeping a head of coolant higher than everything else in the bay. Quite smart really! And helped massively getting all the air out. Even has a littl plunger you can plug it with to remove it without spilling coolant. Happy with that my bad photography got, well, badder haha. Tbh once I start I forget to take pics I've so much in my head I'm trying to remember taking photos seems to get pushed to one side.. The few I did manage tho included... Intercooler back on Boost pipes and airfilter back on. Along with exhaust chucked loosely in place (it's getting a nice stainless one made in new year).. Looks like its doing 100mph just sat there! Now with all that done wanted to get another heat cycle on it. And make sure it was all still dry and the fan came in when it should.. now I know we like a little video so who am I to argue Temp came up nicely all still bone dry and even the heating blows properly hot now. Don't worry about the revving in the video. Was only going to maybe half throttle and being fairly cautious with it.. and how good does it sound!! 🤣🤣 That's pretty much how I left it for the day. Oh and got the gearbox oil refilled again but that's a very boring picture haha. Hopefully tomorrow get front bumper back on. And maybe just maybe give it a littl drive on the private road at work 🙈 More soon hopefully Cheers

Its newest car Mrs has ever had, lasted 4 days and someone's damaged it.. she was crying to her mother about it this morning. Luckily I'm not a complete numpty and can fix most things. But its annoying to say the least.. I hope whoever hit it burns there Christmas dinner 🤣🤷.. it's having bonnet painted in new year so can be touched up then for hopefully not a lot more Cheers

A woman opened her door into my van with me sat in it earlier in the year (or maybe last year, since covid who TF actually knows?), and literally didn't understand why I had an issue when I got out and very loudly and publicly berated her for it. She genuinely said "fine, I'll open the other door where there's more space then!" as if that somehow wasn't the correct thing to be doing in the first F%^#$*g place!!!
Anyway, if you're taking the bumper off the Audi and It's got the Xenon's then may I recommend replacing the bulbs whilst you're at it? I did one with a VAG technician earlier in the year for a friend, and we genuinely couldn't believe it was pretty much a bumper off job(well unclipped and dropped down with some force applied) to get at it.

Is there any CCTV where the car was parked? If so then you can ask for a copy of it.

I hadn't thought about CCTV tbh. Although it seems to be the least of my problems after today... Intrigued. Read on. But first. This came up as a memory today. Quite ironic really as today was looking like the day of the test drive 🙈 So like I say. Was looking like day of the test drive. Got to work this morning, nothing on work wise so figured I'd give it all a quick once over chuck bumper on and give it a run on the private road. Bumper back on sat back on the floor. I'd forgotten how good this thing looks haha But then... Yeah. Haha. Jumped in fired it up, let it warm up for 30 seconds before attempting a million point turn to get out of the workshop (shutter door is blocked outside). Dipped the clutch, went for first. No dice. Car wouldn't go all way in gear as was trying to drive forward even with clutch dipped. Thought it was wierd so tried reverse. Exactly same. What's going off here then? Thought maybe the plates had stuck together turned it off, put it in gear and tried to start it with clutch dipped and car lunged forwards!?!?? Wtf is going off here then!! Got it back up in air and thought maybe I had air in the circuit. So broke out the pressure bleeder. I did get a few bubbles but not much. Also got my boss to pump the peddle and confirmed the slave apears to be moving full travel, and is moving the fork as expected externally.. Got it back on the floor fired it up attempted a gear any gear, still no good. Now at this point a horrible realisation was starting to dawn on me. It would definitely set the swear filter off put it that way! Tried it repeatedly a few times and jacked just the back up so I could try it. With the wheels in the air it will go in gear with it running if I dip the clutch. But it's not disengaging no matter what I do and the wheels are turning constantly. And back on the floor you can't get it in gear with it running (not without it running away down workshop).. Now let's not pretend I did it once and spat dummy out I tried repeatedly to get it working. Tried bleeding it multiple times (no air tbf) and the slave is moving. So whatever the problem it's in the bellhousin and the box is coming back off Both me and my boss had a couple of thoughts, either the clutch fork has broken or cracked/bent and can't press the clutch hard enough. Or the release bearing has slid up the adaptor/spacer thing that CG made (that's doubtful tbh I'm sure it had a shoulder on it to stop that happening). Or maybe the release bearing has failed all together and has "squashed up" (but its done nothing really miles wise).. The 180k old clutch fork is my guess but regardless it means the box is coming out. And no test drives are happening.. with that my boss offered me a early finish and that was game over for the lexus this year 😠The only chance of me ripping box out before next year is if Mrs is sick of site of me and I go down to work for the day.. but wel see. But for now. I'm done. Time for food and beer and sleep and beer. Merry Christmas everyone. Hope you all have a good one! Cheers

Just a silly thought, is it possible that the clutch plate could be in backwards?

Commiserations, even if homersimpson is right, the box has to come out again. A royal pita. The beer will help the mood, if not solve the problem. If it's any consolation, I didn't get to test drive the Marlin today either.
ETA: It does look good though.

No problem for you to sort it, it's just a mild breeze compared to the force ten you've just overcome.
Happy New Year to you even if you get it sorted before then.

Possibly the clutch plate is stuck to the flywheel/pressure plate. I had one stuck on an X1-9, tried all the above, even tried towing it in gear, wouldn't release. Ended up I managed to prise it off using a screwdriver through an inspection hole in the bell housing while the clutch was depressed. Once free it was fine.🤞

Ah frustrating! Feels like a 2022 problem to me... Frustrating is definitely one way of putting it haha.. it's annoying me cus I was meant to be at work today, but my boss has given me an extra day off. Normally I'd be happy but I think I'd rather be pulling box out haha

Just a silly thought, is it possible that the clutch plate could be in backwards? Erm. Haha... Tbf I took the clutch off in one lump. Sat it in the passenger footwell. And it's stayed there not touched for months. And it was right when I removed it. Suppose il see when box is out tho Cheers
