Firstly I just want to take a minute to say thank you. I'm not sure why I chose this as my place to vent but I felt I needed to, in my head it helped and at minute it's my head I need to keep straight..
I'm not going to go on. But thank you for all the positive replies and the people who took the time to message. I'm not "ok" but I'm closer than I was.
Problem I've got is while I'm busy I'm a functioning human. Soon as I'm sat quiet with my thoughts it goes to curse word. In a wierd way being busy at work has helped but this last week work has dropped off and I needed summat to try and occupy me.
Sat in corner is that big black expensive nightmare. And it needs finishing. It needs getting back on road and taking out and kicking its head in on my "private road"! And I can't do that without an exhaust.
Now I'm bad at pictures usually. And that's no different but I've tried. Some of my welding isn't the prettiest, but it's tucked up tight, doesn't touch and sounds well... You decide.
Now I wanted to make it in a couple of parts to make it more manageable to remove. So first bit was the pipe from the front pipe to middle of car to a vband. I also wanted a flexi to help make it all last hopefully
All 3 inch stainless, tacked up before fully welding it up
Then onto the back half with the new back box. And rather than a J cannon 4.5 inch outlet. This is a much more sensible 3 inch inlet 3 inch outlet box. That I've welded a length of 3 inch straight pipe to as a tip (function over fashion)
Other problem I had was trying to hold everything in place to tack it while working on my own. Had to get creative with axle stands and pit boards and anything else I had to hand (including a fluorescent light starter as a spacer if you look closely)
All in place and tacked before welding lot up
Definitely looks the part and is a lot less in your face than the massive cannon that was on before.
Figured axle stands and what not wouldn't make good exaust mounts, so knocked some stainless hangers up too. It's all rock solid and held nicely in place.
I've got to heatwrap the front section but my heatwrap isn't hear yet. And that section wants a little bracket on it. But I don't want to remove it twice so will do it when the wrap turns up.
So million dollar question, how does it sound.. let's not pretend it's Tesla quiet. But at idle and little throttle openings it's tame, should be quite pleasant to drive normally... Just nice. Give it some big licks and it wakes up. Like really wakes up 🙈 to the point it's probably gonna want another box in it to see the track. Luckily I kinda saw this coming so I've made the exhaust run with space for another box if needed.
Anyone fancy a quick video.. speakers up!
Anyways. That's it for now. Will do a bit more when wrap turns up, it's not far off being "finished".. so wel see what that brings. For now il just keep on keeping on.
Thanks
