Slow progress at the moment as I'm waiting for parts & the company who was making my custom braided brake lines cocked 2 of them up by making them too short However I've cleaned a load of parts up & refitted the fuel tank & lines along the chassis. I had the subframe back from powdercoat & cleaned up the diff. I fitted new polybushes & uprated diff bushes.

Another saturday, managed to get the rear end fully built & finally back on the ground. Just need to paint the calipers to match my replacement front brembo set up. Really pleased with my new wheels & figment. Genuine work meister s1 3 piece split rims. 18x11 et15. Completely refurbished in gloss black, satin silver lips & all new hardware. Front end starts as soon as my deox c turns up.

So after having 3 weekends of absolute curse word weather I finally had chance to make some progress on the moredoor today. 1st job was to remove the large auto spigot bush. I'd read loads of different ways of getting it out including using bread or wet paper to cause hydraulic lock, drill it then chisel it in bits etc. I decided to buy a spigot bush puller from ebay. The whole kit was £26 delivered. Used it today 5 pulls with the slide hammer the old bush was out. Tapped in the new manual bush. 1st job done. Then fitted the back plate, the flywheel which I torqued & then the clutch. I really wanted to get the box in today but I physically couldn't get it in & lined up on my own. So I put it back in the garage. However I did start on pulling the interior out & stripping out the huge auto brake pedal.

So a fair bit has gone on recently. I was distracted by a little mx5 which I've just sold so I can concentrate on the bus again. I drilled the bulkhead for the clutch servo & fitted the manual pedal set. Simple job you ask? No it was fiddly as hell & I cut my hands to ribbons. I then chucked in the gearbox with I little help from my neighbour Jim, cheers Jim you're a star. I then stripped the auto gearbox loom to try & make sense of it as I'm relocating the battery into the boot & half the gearbox loom isn't been used. I then removed the dash cluster to remove bulbs that aren't needed now it's manual & has no abs. I also decided to cover the auto shifter lights with some silver vinyl to match the exterior paint. My front wheels turned up from japan so I fitted my skinny tyres & dropped them on the car. I also custom made a front splitter from 2 nissan 200sx s13 front lips that I've had in the garage for ages. I'm really pleased with the result & my neighbour who repairs caravans is going to fibreglass it for me & paint it. I must say I love these work kiwami emotion wheels the colour combo is perfect for my car. Next job is battery relocation into the boot. I've installed the 240amp battery cable through the bulkhead through the car & into the boot, I'm just waiting on all the bits & fittings to get the install done.

Great progress.
Wheels do look spot on; I'd be bricking myself about kerbing them if they were mine!

Looks very good progress here And the gearstick almost lines up perfectly with the selector hole Only thing I would change is the skinny looking tyres, but then I have a dislike of how little ride comfort and rim protection they offer

I like the way you work. Everything is clean and well sorted. Great job mate! Thanks very much, I'm not officially on the spectrum as ocd but my wife would say different. There's lots of things I'd change or do better but I really just want this driving now. Great progress. Cheers. Wheels do look spot on; I'd be bricking myself about kerbing them if they were mine! Fear factor no.1 about driving a car like this. Sooo scary. Looks very good progress here And the gearstick almost lines up perfectly with the selector hole Only thing I would change is the skinny looking tyres, but then I have a dislike of how little ride comfort and rim protection they offer I need to fold the lip on the front section of the gear surround & trim it neatly but it's pretty close. Always loved stretch. It's the curse of slammed cats.

Bought an rb turbo engine. Plans are to upgrade the fuel pump, fmic, nistune ecu & a new exhaust system with decat pipe. Speaking to a guy I know should be good for 350bhp.

Oh that is awesome, are they readily available motors?
What motor is coming out? Just a non turbo version?
They make a great noise!

Oh that is awesome, are they readily available motors? What motor is coming out? Just a non turbo version? They make a great noise! The engines are available but not cheap anymore. Ye the engine coming out is an na engine but I did mock up the gtr 26dett throttle bodies. Spacers need counter sinking to hide the shallow head cap bolts but the set up looks awesome. I'm making some trumpet gaskets. I might keep the whole set up for a future retro project. Really not sure as it's worth a few quid.

I need to get my hands on an rb so I can do a measure up for my car..
Problem is they're pretty pricey over here, too.
Be nice to get something that isn't already an anchor so I can mock up/install and then source a 26 or 30 at a reasonable price.

Cleaned up the block using Mr muscle oven cleaner. Then used some water based degreaser to get off the tough bits. Wire wheeled, knot wheeled & a lot of elbow grease. I then had a tidy block. Then I painted it with black engine enamel & also painted & cleaned any parts to go back on.
