Gorgeous. that wagon wins my vote Grizz, just something about it, the lines and the length of the thing, deffo mega want! I have been speaking to the owner. I was his final build, to be his “daily” and not for sale. However, Ill health, and life getting in the way, means that for the right money, the wagon above may be for sale. It’s 170 miles from where I will be the next time I am in the USA Now just need to figure what it’s really worth.

looks a bit "driving miss daisy" what with being all cream and chrome , rather that road rebel rust.

Been waiting for these photos from Andy. Between running a cattle farm, hobbies, engineering and being the primary carer for his disabled wife he needed to get me some more photos of the interior of the Bel Air These came today. What you see is what you get, simply put. Nice rear. Love spats. Then the rose tinted glasses come off. That’s the rear bench seat. Roof, no silver lining here. Passenger side ear door, needs door card. Rear parcel shelf. P Passenger front door, again needing a door card. Steering view of dash. Basic really. And looking over to the right. Lastly, drivers side door and card. Clearly has had a good life, still, I would replace it if I could. So according to information, the car should start and drive, despite gas tank being on the “rear seat” Maybe I need to go look for myself. .

that interior certainly fits the "blank canvas" title well. is this one of the models covered that you could go clickety-click with a mouse and a big box labelled "new interior" arrives? most american cars seem to be incredibly well catered for in that department.

Come on mate........ You know it is a curtain airbag, testing me here I see. Andy commented thus: There is a radiator installed. There is a fuel cell type fuel tank installed. The passenger front door glass is in the trunk. It is supposed to run except they think it needs a fuel pump. that interior certainly fits the "blank canvas" title well. is this one of the models covered that you could go clickety-click with a mouse and a big box labelled "new interior" arrives? most american cars seem to be incredibly well catered for in that department. Morning Mate, There are parts for them, at least pretty much everything's available from www.chevsofthe40s.com/ which despite the name does parts for up to 1954 chevy's. Much less than what’s available for the 55,56,57 cars. But possibly more than I could make myself. I like blank canvas, and with industrial, or vintage sewing machines as cheap as £50.00 out there, and the rolls of fabric in the garage, I think it can all be addressed. I have not yet looked at the website to see what prices floor pans, door panels etc would cost, it may scare me 😉

Just got a pic from Andy in Oklahoma He did a first casting for a personalised Bigfoot Gas Pedal. Due to being thin, long and metal setting too fast, it did not completely fill the mould. However........ All is not lost in my world. Being perfect imperfect it would be just right for a patina build. No need to add damage or fake wear to it. I love it. Looks like I will be inspecting it in person. And in other news. Yup, it may be news for some of you. craigrk and I are off on the 2019 USA 🇺🇸Road Trip. THREAD HERE: forum.retro-rides.org/thread/210620/deja-grizz-craig-dennis-reloadedWill update as we go along as usual.

Guy with the Bel Air wagon sent this message:
I have another wagon coming in. Project car. 54, 210 model. do not know much about it yet. Going to try and have it here in a week or so.
I replied:
Hi Mate Trust you are doing fine. Hopefully resting a bit too. Thank you for your message. My friend Craig and I land in St Louis on Thursday late. Not sure when we will be headed out with Dennis, yes three guys in a car. But plan is or was to swing by Cabool as well. Project car can mean a lot of things. I would steer clear from Trailer cars as the shipping guys don't like that and often we hear people get cars damagedby forklifts etc. Still fascinated by your wagon too. I was wondering if you know of any breakers yards where I can look for a set of 54 Bel Air 4 door, door panels? I like to do my homework as they are obviously unobtainable in England so I would need to find a used set if I were to buy the 4 door in Oklahoma. Of course still no idea if I will find anything that is what I need or want.
His reply this morning:
There is only 1 yard close by but they do not have any good trim panels. you can get it all in new except for the metal trim that goes on it. I made my panels and trimmed them myself. The yard may have enough panels to get the metal trim from. let me know when/if you are in my area. Love to meet up. Yes as far as the other wagon I am not sure what cond. as I am buying it almost blind. Hoping it is a builder. When I lived in So. Cal. (20yrs back) I bought and shipped a lot of cars to Australia. I delivered and loaded them as well. Best regards and be safe.

£2000.00 Barn find 200 miles. Not running. Has rust at rear under seat. What could go wrong? Has a tow bar. Just a bit of left field thinking.

that merc fix brakes make run clean windows only ROLL! Now you amuse me, because that´s what I hoped for to happen to the blazer, but you know the result. Never been a fan of these fintail benzes, but one really caught my eye: Probably just the wheels that made it for me!
