Don’t know anything about it, another internet find Somebody might be able to tell us about it? That was photo was taken at the Doncaster Custom Car show around 89/90. I was there and me and my mates had a look at it. Very vague memories but I think it had the Minor chassis still and the rear of the Capri had been "welded" to that and the Minor body front. Didn't look to bad from the top but was very rough underneath.

Don’t get on here often these days but just had to reply after getting the email earlier yesterday showing these 70’s and 80’s pearls. Lots of good memories from Customs cars, Street Machine and Car & Car Conversions mags back in the 80’s.
Have a few pics at home, I’ll try and post a few when I get back home.

Pinball wizard Another legend in the custom scene I was going to go with pinball wizard. I didnt get to any custom show, i saw the odd custom at classic shows but when Pinball Wizard showd up at Uxbridge once it was like meeting a celebrity I think this need including here It like a cross between a '70s custom and a '90s custom. Its a car that demonstrates why I like silly bodykits and big wheels, i appreciate the work that goes into it and the effort and creativity that makes it a one off.

I took these pictures around 1987 at Weston Park Car Show, DVLA says not taxed since 1991 and lists a 3 litre, always wonder what happened to Telegon. 😎😍

I restored this back in the 80's for a guy called Paul Hensher, he lived opposite the Uxbridge showground so it would have been him showing it there . It didn't have the red fogging and a few subtle changes. He used it for a few years and Draged Raced it doing quite well . he now races Gas Attack another pop.

This is the car that got me into hot rods and customs. Was on the cover of Street Machine in June 1986 when it was painted red. Bought that issue and then never missed after that. Has recently been discovered and is being rebuilt, hope it gets another feature.

Back to it's 70s version(s) or modernised? Personally i hope it's the late 70s iteration. I was told a few months back it was being rebuilt and they were looking for some original parts that had been removed. I know it had been Pro streeted with Weld pro stars a few years back so hopefully going back to slots and blue paint again, We will have to wait and see what they do.

The Steel City Cruisers thread reminded me of the chopped Routemaster bus which turns out was actually the Smoke City Wheelers bus. Read somewhere it had been bought by restorers and was being unchopped.

I think the blue Vauxhall is the one that a friend of mine has. He is a member on here, so maybe he can shed some light on the subject. Indeed you are correct Mr M.... the blue Vauxhall Magnum Coupe on page 3 ( I think? ) is the one that's been sat in my back garden for the last 14 years. It's called Magnumania. I was told by the previous owner that it was built in the very late 70s and attended quite a few car shows through out the 80s. These days it's not looking quite so good. It's all there, but the chrome has rusted or flaked off and the tin worm has taken a hold as you'd expect. I wanted to restore the shell and turn it into a 70s style touring car by adding the 'Old Nail' body kit that I have for it. But, I then get people saying I should restore it back to its original custom car appearance. To this day, I'm still torn between the two different plans of action......that's why I've never done anything to it since I've had it....( that's I excuse and I'm sticking to it! )

One of the best things about old photos is there's usually something going on in the background, as interesting as the main subject of the photo. That full custom Bedford camper van is a definite case in point. (The Pop's pretty cool too!)

The pink pop used to belong to a bloke who worked in a paint shop in front of a yard my dad rented must have been late 70's early 80's i would have been 9 or 10 years old maybe younger i thought it was amazing and still do, just checked its sorn but says orange ford pop i would love that as it was bright pink, i must have drove that bloke mad i bet looking touching and asking questions. Now thinking about it he might have added side skirts to it at a later date so that the bottom sill was parallel with the floor if that makes sense filling in the gap between the exhaust and the sill.
