I always thought that the FHC roofline was a bit too tall. The proportions on this are spot-on.

That's a huge improvement. Would like to see similar treatment on a E Type, the roof on those is horrid too.

We've got a rotten XK120 roadster shell at work Would make a great base for a gentleman racer with some modern running gear Got me thinking....

It would be interesting to see a picture with a 6ft driver in there.
And then take it over a couple of sleeping policemen.
But I suppose it's alright as a piece of still life art.
I prefer the original.

For reference looks like its had alot of work. Yeah, the black one is much better looking, original looks a bit awkward. I'd venture that the colour of that original is not flattering to the body shape. Black seems to make the car look much better. I don't think the reworked car is 'much better looking' as, in context, the original is an utterly iconic design both physically and mechanically. The chopped Jag does look fabulous but the original is still the boss considering that it was designed 70 odd years ago!
