I've found that anything over 11 degrees is warm enough unless you are painting or doing something requiring a high temp. Still finding bits to do, finished off some cladding between the roof joists and the insulation, but no photos. Second coat of paint on the doors has them fully white. I've also been painting another large shelf to go in the rafters at the far end of the garage to match the one over the bench, another LED light is on the shopping list for this. Something I pinched off another garage build thread in this forum - a window blind. This is a blackout blind but also a thermal blind to keep a bit more heat in. Looks smart I think.

As I had a fair bit of offcuts left over of Celotax board from the doors I thought I'd use them up on the roof above the bench area. Need some more foil tape and I might have to go back for another couple of damaged sheets to conplete the roof now, lol. Needs a bit of beading down the sides to hold them up tight, and of course they will need painting!! And the new shelf over the doors end.

Been doing a few more jobs over the holidays, roof is now fully insulated over the work area and all painted white again. New loft area shelf is completed and starting to fill up; As seen on other garage threads in this section I bought £10 worth of flooring from B&Q, its warmer under your feet and seems reasonable enough. Best not to weld over it as the spark scatter leaves lots of holes in it And I knocked up a new bracket for the paint masking roll that hangs over the rafters - I can move it around to where its not in the way. Oh, and we had 4 spare cool white LED tubes at work (we use daylight ones at work) so I 're purposed' them for my main 4 tubes in the roof. The cool white LED's are slightly brighter than my Daylight flourescent tubes so match well.

blackpopracing what brand of LED tube lights do you use? My friend needs to redo the lighting in his double garage, and the light output of your install looks very good

Have been discussing LED replacements with SWMBO, and lo and behold, an update to this thread! Do you need to replace the starters with something when you swap to LED?

Nope, you bypass the entire innards and wire 240v to one end of led tube only. You use the original wiring, just splice the wires into the original wiring block and disconnect the rest.

Shamelessly stolen idea from martin42006 garage thread, take a bit of plastic drainpipe and chop it around a bit, So it fits your drill like this; Then mount it under a shelf like this a nice drill holster

Looking great, I think the plastic worked better than my steel pipe.

That door furniture is impressively sturdy. Can you recall where you got it from?

Some I think from Ebay, the rest(iirc)from Ironmongery direct. If you look back in this build thread I think I list them. Remind me & I'll try to look them up.

All LED replacement tubes come with a starter - if your fittings are old enough to use a starter you can fit the LED one, but it still uses the Ballast unit (so uses more power) so if you bypass it all and wire one end of led tube it's more economical for power.

Ah I see. As this is a rental, I am leaning towards not having to wire things if I can help it. But I also want to run power to the other side of the garage, which will definitely need an electrician and also probably owner approval, so might hold off for that. Cheers for the info.

Small update to this, I bought a new welder so was looking for something to weld Previous house owner had left a load of 40mm angle iron and some 19mm box section in the garden so chopped that up & de-rusted it and welded it all together. Found an unopened tin of red oxide in the shed which with a bit of thinners and a lot of stirring got slapped over it. An afternoons work ended up looking like this; Which will be the stand for this; It will be nice to get the workhorse back. I think I've got a partial tin of gloss black left over so that will get used up on it tonight.
