Yes, the day has finally arrived once again owning an old American truck after a 18 year absence! Damn I feel like a kid at Christmas . Been searching mostly online, for an affordable(to me!) fix and didn't really hold out much hope until this came along. Tis a 1967 Ford F100 straight six in its original sunburnt paint which arrived from Grass Valley in California just over a month ago and was registered on the road with its 2018 licence sticker! Needs a few hundred quid spending on it & its ready to use so I'll be getting the paperwork off to the DVLA straight away. Anyhoo, enough waffling, here's my new girl!

Is it to be a driver or a resto? Either way, its a fine looking truck.

Got the DVLA forms filled out today so should get them posted soon. Then the big wait for SGS and hopefully a UK reg number! Did some basic jet washing yesterday which revealed some decent paint under the muck so now onto cleaning a mucky engine so I can try find the engine no

Paperwork all sent in this morning to DVLA so probably an SGS inspection first before getting a reg number. Wont be counting the days until christmas but will for when it's all legal!

What is th SGS inspection? I registered a French import van earlier this year and although I had hassle with the DVLA over build date, they did not ask for an inspection and I'm only 15 miles from the DVLA. Cool truck by the way.

Love it. I'm looking for something similar for my son's first vehicle, but I think he wants the older (62-66) bodystyle. I'll definitely be watching!

They do random checks but I believe they are working towards checking all imports etc. A friend of mine had his 55 chevy pickup checked last week & took all of 10 minutes!

No photos but gave the engine a double wash with oven cleaner today as it was packed with old oil. Then it dawned on me......this old girl still has points & condensor and would be a right sod to start Finished the job the best I could now that the darkness was creeping in and gingerly pulled out the choke & turned the key.........It started 1st time Here's hoping that the old mill is a good 'un!
