It looks a million times better in the most recent pics. Go for it, it looks cool, V8 rumble and doesnt need much structural work Spot on mate. I think there is enough good on this to make it worth having. Interior looks sweet too. Has it been lowered? Nato green paint, black out the chrome, instant cool

Like shiny stuff myself.

I'm sure with some minor and low cost "tittivation" you could add monetary value to the old thing , so really there's no plausable reason to keep trying to talk yourself out of it....go on...you know you wannit!

Buy it, give it a week or a month, if you sell it will you get what you paid with relative ease? Ok it's cost insurance and tax, but you can say you did it instead of wishing you did... Agreed WRT this and your other latest posts... This is why I have my 540i Touring. I still haven't bonded with it yet, but on paper, the only E34 4.0 V8 manual touring made in this colour, right price, years ticket, seemed perfect. It hasn't got under my skin as of yet, which is making working on it hard without much motivation, but if I HADN'T bought it, I would still be kicking myself four months later on wishing I had. Or, I would have bought the purple saloon that came up for sale during the summer. Either way, some things you just need to do, even if it financially cripples you, but especially if they wont, then you have no excuse. Remember I also moved on some cars I really liked to make way - I sent my Forester packing and it was a great, capable car that did all I needed, much like a certain navy Berlingo... Sometimes you just need to give it a go and see. Where's your sense of adventure, oh you of 18 page automotive holiday note?

I agree with Darkspeed. If a car looked like the one in the first picture and after that has not had very serious attention to the body work, you will end up with a very expensive bodywork exercise. We all know that cars from the US never had serious anti rust treatment with for example wax so if a car has been out for some time and looks like that, all panels will have severe (and not only surface)rust inside. I quess the tipex areas have tons of filler to hide severe rust. I would finish your truck first as cars in the price range of the tipex car, will not be reliable and will be a money pitt if you cannot do much yourself. You will loose interest and money

cant really help much other than to say you don't seem to be the type of guy who has many regrets in life, you seem to do things as you see fit and to live life to the full, my point here in would be, if you want it, like it and can afford it, and you know it will bring a smile to your face then go for it. if it doesnt tick your boxes then stick where you are

yes! reason? if it floats your boat then you will regret it if yoiu don't and it will become i wish i had! personally I would buy it then lpg it and use it as a daily, its the best way to find out if you love a motor or not, LPG brings the cost down to almost same as the prozac, but with a lot more panache and road presense, jm2pw

If you want a gas guzzling v8 truck why not buy a landie or rangie? At least parts will be relatively cheap and plentiful

My opinion for what it is worth, it looks like a money pit! keep the Berlingo and spend the cash on your other truck

I pondered for ages over a cbx750 hardtail chop project a few months ago, which I'm now regretting not going for as I'm sure it would've made me smile just knowing it was in my garage. Like you Grizz, things that brighten your day more than cloud them is what it's all about.

.....even if you cant polish it you can always sprinkle glitter on it! Sorry guys. Been a busy day, so not been able to reply and respond. Well....... This made me chuckle Need a bulk bucket of Unicorn Glitter though. I bet there is half a ton of bodge on that. Looks well scary in places, and that's from a photo! I think one needs to look at this in perspective, and it is a 40year old car, not a Ferrari Dino or similar The plan continues to be as close as zero spent, other than possible front suspenders. The looks are less important than the functionality To answer the questions But would you? - No I would not. And Why? - A bit of background - I have always been a fan of American cars - Love V8's - I prefer sports and muscle cars - would love a 454 Corvette - would need to be a '71 in Orange. Manual preferred but I could live with an auto. So why not this off the road for the most part of this century bodged up for a quick flip white turd of a pick-up - well mostly because I have no idea what its being offered at to take a view on the worth compared with others on the market and that the true issues with a car that has been sat for so long (in the UK) will not become apparent until it has done a good few hundred miles. Bodywork and paint is one of the most expensive aspects of a car and that thing requires acres of it. It's a rolling restoration project that will need starting immediately - and you already have one project that will drift further away from getting started/finished if you buy another. I love working on projects so that what I buy and do. You do not, otherwise we would see posts and progress on the Red truck every other day. My advice is walk away - It will just become a growing rusty stain on the drive especially if you use it going forward into a UK salt laden road season. Old US iron is not a UK daily, it is for weekends and holidays. If you really want a daily driver pick-up whilst you think about working on yours - then spend 'x' times as much and get one that wants for nothing you can wash wax and protect. One of the most well thought through replies imho and it stopped me in my tracks. Current miles MOT miles 10 months ago. There are all valid comments. That does not mean that stoopid will not be Stoopid regardless Thank you for the reply and input. WRT this and your other latest posts... This is why I have my 540i Touring. I still haven't bonded with it yet, but on paper, the only E34 4.0 V8 manual touring made in this colour, right price, years ticket, seemed perfect. Sometimes you just need to give it a go and see. Where's your sense of adventure, oh you of 18 page automotive holiday note? Another laugh generated by the reference to the road trip. Let’s see where it all goes. I agree with Darkspeed. If a car looked like the one in the first picture and after that has not had very serious attention to the body work, you will end up with a very expensive bodywork exercise. I would finish your truck first as cars in the price range of the tipex car, will not be reliable and will be a money pitt if you cannot do much yourself. You will loose interest and money The fenders are known to rust. I have no plans to restore this vehicle. Just drive it as long as it lets me......😉 cant really help much other than to say you don't seem to be the type of guy who has many regrets in life, you seem to do things as you see fit and to live life to the full, my point here in would be, if you want it, like it and can afford it, and you know it will bring a smile to your face then go for it. if it doesnt tick your boxes then stick where you are I have been good at walking before, only look back at this....... and it was a great car, cheap for what it was, low miles, California car. yes! reason? if it floats your boat then you will regret it if yoiu don't and it will become i wish i had! personally I would buy it then lpg it and use it as a daily, its the best way to find out if you love a motor or not, LPG brings the cost down to almost same as the prozac, but with a lot more panache and road presense, jm2pw LPG is £1500.00 to fit? Right? So, if you gave me 1200 litres of petrol, it would offset the crappy consumption, which is not an issue to me. Remember, I do not need a daily, I have a job that affords me that. LPG would add an irretrievable cost. If you want a gas guzzling v8 truck why not buy a landie or rangie? At least parts will be relatively cheap and plentiful Rather not reply on here, but it rhymes with “Not” and “Float my Boat” My opinion for what it is worth, it looks like a money pit! keep the Berlingo and spend the cash on your other truck Other wise your just going to have 2 projects! I think I may have mentioned on here or elsewhere that the C10 has its own budget and bank account. I pondered for ages over a cbx750 hardtail chop project a few months ago, which I'm now regretting not going for as I'm sure it would've made me smile just knowing it was in my garage. Like you Grizz, things that brighten your day more than cloud them is what it's all about. I still regret a gorgeous girl I did not flip over 30 plus years ago. Also a couple of other small items over time, including a crazy priced bike I missed out on. I like the idea of brightening my day too.

Different strokes and all that, yes one gas guzzler for another or one type of rust for another. Choices choices.

Now we have been talking about this truck for a couple of days........
And excluding the few people I have told what the seller needs for it and where the price is fixed at.....
WHO HAS ANY IDEA WHAT PRICE THIS TRUCK WE ARE ALL SPEAKING ABOUT HERE IS BEING OFFERED AT??
Let’s see what perceptions are.

2.5-3k. Personally I’d be wanting to spend the bottom end of that with the issues it has.

i don't care how much it is , it's irrelevant ...if you want it and can afford it then buy it. simple as. if we all wanted to be sensible and responsible drivers who run practical vehicles we would all be rolling in citroen berlingos!!
always up for meat and beer grizz (just like a camborne girl...[cheap shot local reference])....don't think ive ever been to kent though....unless any of the m25 runs through it?
