Impressive choice - top marks to the garage for orginallity  I once got a courtesy car when my Nissan when it for repair - I got a Toyota with 17 miles on the clock ! ( I hated it - was terrified in case it got dinged at the shops or at work) |

That’s much better than the brown Peugeot thing I have at the minute  With it’s weird overcomplications (I can’t turn the radio off(?) have to open the drivers door.... but I park next to a fence and climb out the passenger side of my van, so keep forgetting) And again the paranoia about scratching it |

I used to keep 2 litre Cavaliers as courtesy cars when there were 250 to choose from on ebay! But my customers liked them so much, they kept buying them from me! Which forced me to buy another and so on. Until suddenly there were no Cavaliers left!

I've had two from the same place several times while they attempted to fix the gearbox on my Freelander  The 05 1.2 Clio felt like it had done 300k despite showing 80 odd on the clock . Still, it was preferable to the 160k Kia Sorento with a knackered third gear synchro ( from a gearbox specialist?!) that blew all its gear oil out on the A12! |

That Passat’s only nicely run in! I genuinely believe they drive nicer with 200+k on the clock!

When the mk3 cavalier was a fairly new car I had one as a courtesy car from the local vauxhall dealership. I had to go from my home in Winchester, to college in Swansea, 163 miles away. I managed to cover that distance in 1 hour and 27 minutes! Fastest car on the road lol

Many moons ago when I was an apprentice our courtesy car was a Mk1 Peugeot 106 1.5D. It was a hateful little thing that stunk of diesel fumes but it carried on plodding along despite all the abuse it used to get!

When I worked at a dealership many years ago, between all the new Type Rs and STs and Prodrive RX8s... was a duck egg blue diesel Rover 75 estate, with beige leather, and it was my favourite car there, and my choice of them all - and I would still like one.
There were also four identical green Mazda 323s, those were cool little cars too.

Back when I had a Saab I used to take it to a local-ish specialist for a couple of jobs. One time they gave me a 220k mile 9-5 diesel as a courtesy car
I think it was the older 2.2 engine, sounded like a tractor but drove surprisingly well!

Fastest car on the road lol My boss in 88 had a brand new 2.0i L Cav saloon, we went out one day to collect an MR2, on the way home, he left me and the MR2 for dead! And I was TRYING, HARD! I still have 2 Cavs, a 91 PFL 2.0 GLi auto saloon and a 95 2.0 16v GLS auto saloon. Both comfy, reliable, reasonably quick and will manage 40mpg at a steady 85! What's not to love? Even the styling is relatively ageless on the MkIII! The 16v car has run 16.03 @ 91mph at Santa Pod, straight off the street and more or less bog standard.

Getting a bit off topic but my gaffer had one of the first SRI130 cavs and being the latest thing it sold in no time so he was given a Mexico red 2.0 GLi cav , the gli was absolutely rapid , it was gobsmackingly fast compared to the Sri (which wasn’t slow !) but you 2.0 cavs summat special 👍🏻👍🏻

I took my Corolla in to have the airbag module replaced under warranty, and I was also awarded a courtesy car. The car I got was a 2002 Civic 1.4. Not a terrible choice, right? Japanese, average size etc. It would have been fine, if it didn't smell like dog and was covered in suspicious stains everywhere. I'm pretty sure they also rented it out as a porta-pottie during summer festivals.
