I use the spread adhesive brushed on for trimming door cards & sections like what you are currently undertaking - it's quick tack and cures within 30 mins - the contact adhesive spray I use for larger areas such has hard backed head linings etc - Martrim supply the trade but are happy to supply the public too - postage is normally next day and the prices are very fair - they stock all automotive trimming products and I have been using them for years - link below www.martrim.co.uk/car-trimming-supplies/glues-and-adhesives.php

'above prime turkey cooking temperature' made me chuckle I can recommend Martrim too. Bought all my bits to do the Spit's interior from there. Very reasonable and good service.

Excellent progress. Looks pretty solid. I am in Cleveland Ohio. I can try to help you with parts if needed.

Top work on the lights although I hate to think of the fumes that little concoction kicked out, silver paint looks plenty good enough for the trims though bennyup is the man to speak to re the rear trim painting - think he documented it in his thread thinking about it. Re separating the rear lights, it's something the PO did with my project... albeit vertical rather than horizontal, it also looks like they used a marker pen when viewed up close!

I...much prefer that finish to chrome. Consider the idea stolen!

Just looking back at the photo of the rear of my car has made me think I might paint a black line or whatever the final colour of the rear trim will be on the silver trim between the two lights to help separate them, I think that'll look good. Model/ craft shops sell trim tape in different widths. I used some for a project once, it held up very well and the weather resistance was good.
