Private Scratchy reporting for duty! In the sprit of recycling, rear formers fitted ready for use :-) Need to get a new wire brush to remove all the old glue and carpet. Cage looking good!

The cage looks great!
Will you cut holes through the body for the feet and bolt directly to the chassis or sandwich the body between the mounts?

Slow progress today as I had the rear brakes to do on my daughters '07 Polo - after 100,000 miles of zero maintenance they were a bit - errr - rubbish. Sleeved two cage mount holes And that was it!

With chassis mods, cage and lots of body mounts there must be a massive increase in chassis rigidity. Will be a nice tight basis for the suspension to work from. Any thoughts on how much extra weight vs increase in rigidity ? Nice to see such nicely engineered mods. James

Fair enough - I suppose the safety of a cage is a big factor as well as all the other improvements like cooling pipe routing etc. that cumulatively add up to make a nicely developed car. James

Thinking about buying another G15 Ginetta G15I don't need another project to finish but its probably as cheap as you will ever find one.

Probably end up selling for more than I pay for 1:1 scale kits.

Update - No mini G15 build winging its way to me - Someone else wanted it more than I did. Did not think much of the chassis anyway.

Although the chassis ‘repair’ was not right it has lasted quite a while...

Although the chassis ‘repair’ was not right it has lasted quite a while... The chassis was never fitted back on the car following the restoration work. It has been in storage at one location or another whilst owners took it on and then passed it on since 1984. What you see there is the zero miles as restored finish. Best you can say is that the standard of workmanship has been very well preserved.

Yeah I've got a bit on the Spitfire's floor I suspect might be a bit ike that. Previous repair that looks good but no knowing what's underneath really. Still haven't plucked up the courage to have a proper look at it!

In the garage today - dusted off my most popular tools when working on Ginetta chassis. Had a look through the stocks to make sure that I had the required materials Get my mind on the task ahead. Put on some music Made a brew Sparks flew rubbish was removed and resigned to the bin in the corner Clean platform ready for some new material.

It will be much better for it. Yes indeed. That jonomisfit may be having an influence here as that rear flat panel just looks far too plain..... So do I just cut it out completely and fit diagonal tubes in its place or do I buy a 2" hole saw and dimple die ago for a number of swaged holes? Hmmmm..... HS&DD = lots £ - tube = few p's. Blast, on a cost benefit ratio I think tube is going to win this time as I cant think of another project at the moment where swaged holes are required. Tubes to cut.

All valid negative points on the purchasing of them.
But I think you may have missed the key plus point.
Swagey holes = win 😁
If it was me though I'd likely do a tube as you're doing.
If you do need some for something drop me a line and I'll see what I can do.

Whilst sitting out in the garage having a brew with a mate, in looking at the "W" bracing there is actually no need for any diagonal tubes - (That's the trouble when your default response to everything is more tubes) to be added as the bracing/triangulation of those members is already covered. All I need is the upper frame with three vertical brace tubes to tie the upper new 1" tube to the lower 1.5" tube.
