Bit of fun, this. I am talking about theoretical engine swaps that you've always fancied doing - whether they've been done before or not. It can be anything into anything else - however different it may be. Also, your technical know-how doesn't count here. Let's assume that it's a lottery-win situation and you have an endless supply of workshop facilities and experts at hand. So here's a few of mine: FX4 Taxi with a big block V8 but as a sleeper with banded steels and hubcaps so everything looks standard+. A 60s or 70s Milk Float with Tesla running gear. I have absolutely no idea whether this would be achievable but I simply love the idea of an electric milk float getting to 60 in 3 seconds. A type 25 VW Van or pickup with a Porsche Flat 6. I know Porsche actually built one, but I would like to go a bit further and push it on with a couple of Turbos etc. A bus or coach with an engine from a train. It would have no use and would probably look like a dog's dinner but the thought of all that torque... If it didn't fit in the bus how about a 17 ton truck?? And finally, a Maxi. With a V8. Where the rear seats normally are. Just because it's a bit bonkers...

Jaguar V12 into a Mk X / 420G. It has been done with an early 5.3 litre but I'd look to use a later 6 litre in a state of tune which implies also transplanting the more complex electrics.
Rolls-Royce Merlin into a car, again it's been done but the results have generally been cosmetically alarming. I mean Merlin not Meteor and with supercharger still hooked up. I'd envisage the car being of early Bentley proportions with a lorry-like chassis.
Rover P5B Coupé with later, tuned, V8.

Mk3 golf with full Honda Civic IMA or CRz running gear, dunno why but I think it would make a interesting daily.
Also a C4 Cactus with a RCZ/308 gti swap, gives around 270-300bhp.
And finally swap full running gear from a audi s3 (quattro) into my battered golf plus for ultimate sleeper

Very first show I attended presenting a car, a fella had restored a type 25, and order a crate flat 6 turbo Porsche engine direct from Porsche and made it fit like factory, was running Porsche wheels and brakes as well. I'd love a stuffing great Smokey Cummins lump in my sprinter work van though

Rover P5B Coupé with later, tuned, V8. That’s a great idea, a TVR lump would do the trick.

Allegro Vanden Plas with Audi quattro or S2 running gear . To look EXACTLY factory including how the car sits etc .
Tuned to 500 odd bhp and sounding like the devil .
Not sure why just always thought it would be hilarious.

A 3 litre BMW M54 into a Mazda RX8 with a dead rotary.
A BMW M57 into some sort of 60's/70's American muscle car in a similar manner to the Merc Om606 powered Charger that DPUK built a while back.
Turbo Subaru flat four and running gear into a Freelander 1 has potential.
There's probably something it's worth putting a Turbo K Series Rover lump into also.

M52tuB28 into an RX-8. Worthless but ultimately reliable engine in worthless but lovely car. BMW V12 into E34. K series into Skoda Estelle. 13b into Skoda Rapid. Subaru boxer (+running gear) into Skoda Favorit. I really like the look of 1UZFE (is that right) V8 engines in a MkIV Supra, which I would do if I got a Supra needing an engine.

Coyote V8 into a Capri.
Cummins D6 into a Landy 90.
Jag V12 into an XJC. Did they do that?
My pal fitted a 300bhp+ Cossie engine into a Mk1 Fiesta. Transverse!
In was entertaining if you could keep the FWD gearbox in one piece long enough.

Although they have been done a few times, I always wanted to get a 205 GTi and stick a 405 T16 engine into it!

Bought this to put the engine and gearbox into this Will eventually do a manual swap at some point and hopefully supercharge it. My mate was gonna have the LS400 and put a big turbo diesel lump in it but it's fairly rotten underneath so he's not gonna bother now Gonna have to try and convince him otherwise as that would deffo be different!

Rover P5B Coupé with later, tuned, V8. That’s a great idea, a TVR lump would do the trick. The 5 litre variant, (as used in the Chimaera & Griffith), produced up to 340bhp.
